satellites can pick up is land is sinking or sea levels are rising, and in many places it is a combination of problems. Global warming causes higher sea levels.
"They" also predicted we'd never see snow aaain. No, wait, it was that we would burn up by 2020. But that was after the same "they" predicted a mini ice age for the same period back in the 70's. "They" don't really know sheeeittt so get your data unmolested from Diamond at the Oppenheimer Ranch Project and Dave's ADAPT2030 RU-vids. And Chris of IeAgeFarmer will orient you to how to survive bad weather and grow more food during ths mini ice age.
over 90% of global warming has been absorbed in the oceans, and because of physics, warmer water takes more space, pushing up sea level. And the warming oceans are undercutting glaciers in Antartica that are like corks in champagne, holding back a lot of ice under pressure in ginormous glaciers. So yes, sea levels are rising, and more quickly than previous predictions. With satellite data we have a much clearer understanding of the processes and are getting better at predicting when and how much sea level will rise. But we do have time to adapt to this effect of climate change. Stronger hurricanes and flooding from extreme rainfall are more immediate threats of climate change, as are climate refugees.
There is still some time as sea level rise is relatively slow. But the stronger hurricanes and flooding are more of an urgent threat and reason to plan an exit in the near future. Plus as more folks get wise to sea level rise, property values will not do as well as they have historically.
we need to quickly transition away from fossil fuels. all the forests only take about 15% of CO2 out. We need more trees, and regenerative agriculture that sequesters carbon in the soil. But you hit the nail on the head, rapid reduction of CO2 is necessary. Electric cars and public transportation are great ways to help. Changing energy generation to renewables is another. cheers.
OUR CREATOR is dismantling the earth things will get worse nobody is safe i dont care where you are apocalyptic destruction is on its way.. these are surely the end of. days
@@Koko-55533 you want apocalypse? Here's the real deal: Oct 17 2046 we get a fatal mini nova and polar reversal. Douglas Vogt/Diehold Foundation proves it recurs every 12, 068 years on the precise galactic clock. Our forefathers all practiced soul ascension to avoid it but we don't teach it any more so you are on your own with the pope and good luck with that ;)
It's been happening for the last 53 years that I've lived here but it's earlier, lasts longer and is much deeper. Talk to some old Miami Beach residents. !!!!!
Let's face it, areas around south Florida have sunken to the point it can no longer hold back the King tides. Miami Beach, downtown Miami, Ft.lauderdale, built many years ago before we had any understanding of how all the tide cycles work. Plus many areas were built on mangrove estuaries with dredged sediment from the Intracoastal and Government cut, which has compacted, settled and sunk. Has nothing to do Global warming, just a lack of insight and poor engineering.
in some places land is sinking some, but rising seas are also a factor. Satellite data from multiple sources gives us a pretty good read on what is actually happening. And basic physics tells us that warmer water takes more space and the oceans are absorbing the bulk of the heat from global warming. Data from multiple sources again backs that up. And as G F says, the land ice is definitely melting, and at an accelerating rate. We need to both mitigate the causes of global warming, i.e... move away from fossil fuels, and adapt to an inevitable amount of sea level rise.
@@scottmurray9086 fossil fuels have nothing to do with sea level rise, since the sea has risen and fallen for millions of years before fossil fuels were ever invented. If you're saying the reason for the disappearing ice in the Arctic is because of fossil fuels, then maybe fossil fuels are to blame for record ice sheets and ice buildup in Antarctica? Now that you said the " P " word. Physics plays a big part of why our tectonic plates shift, and contraction is a result, shrinking the planets dry surface and rising the sea. Physics can also be used in discussion with the earth's elliptical orbit around the sun and how the northern hemisphere is tilting more to the south than recent years. Fossil fuels cannot be blamed for it. Or the fact that the water level around Florida has rise and fall before people even existed on this continent. Fossil fuels is not to blame.
Mr.NaughtyPants lots of misinformation in your statement to unpack here. Indeed sea levels have risen and fallen going back into the geologic record. Those changes occurred with variations in CO2, world temperatures, and amount of ice as well. These natural cycles happen over very long periods and the causes again related to physics are pretty well understood. Where you are wrong is on fossil fuels. Burning fossil fuels has increased concentrations way over the highest levels seen on earth for over 1 million years. At 415 ppm now, compared to a range of around 180-300. The rate of increase in that CO2 concentration is super quick compared to the planetary cycles of 30,000 and 60,000 years, and that’s mostly from burning fossil fuels. You add CO2 to air and apply heat it gets hotter. When you burn carbon, like fossil fuel, you get CO2. It’s why the planet is getting hotter. 18 of the 19 hottest years we’ve measured have happened since 2001. The ocean is getting hotter. Ice is melting more rapidly. Man is causing it. Pretty simple.
