One thing I remember being surprised about when I first started this show is Tommy’s ability to reel his brothers back in positively. When you look at other mob stories most mob bosses would talk down to their brothers who tried to commit suicide and fall for someone’s scams, or a brother who trusts a prostitute to marry. I remember dreading Tommy going to be pissed at them but instead he uplifts them. Made his character very likable.
@@danielgardecki1046 would like u to mention some as I'm sure I'd be familiar with them having watched plenty on the Beeb and itv. For me this is as good as anything I've seen over the years.
@@danielgardecki1046You do know they haven't reacted to all those shows you're talking about even if they are better. When they talk about thier top 10 they are talking about shows they've reacted to. If Sons of Anarchy can break top 5 I think Peaky Blinders can make their top 10 easily. It's better than SOA for me at least. 🤷♂️
Cordial is like a consentrated drink mix that you add to water, it's not alcoholic. It's a big mainstay in the UK and Ireland. Closest thing you guys have is probably coolaid except cordial or "squash" as it's more commonly called is a liquid concentrate not powder.
The BBC make most of their series in six episodes. Sometimes they have more than one "season" in a year. I followed the series (we have the BBC on digital TV in Belgium) when it was released on TV but can't remember if there was more than one "season" per year. It's still one of the "best" series I've ever watched.
I love how insane and intimidating Arthur is to everyone else, because whenever he folds to his family, it hurts so much more. His size and wild nature makes it so much more impactful, when you see him break. Definitely one of my favorite characters throughout the series
This is the episode that made me fall in love with Arthur. Underneath that hard veteran skin is a boy who looked up to his a**hole father who walked out on him, and was heartbroken he never got him back. He was probably an angry kid before he got sent to war. War just made his mental state worse. I think eventually Tommy saw how much he struggled and decided to take over the reigns as the younger brother.
Every time these videos come out you can see Nikki getting more into Tommy, don't worry girl it's something we all go through. Those eyes and cheekbones are hard to resist, one does not simply watch Peaky Blinders without getting the feels for Tommy 😅😂
if you guys are interested, the creating team behind Peaky Blinders released a new series pretty recently (I think last summer?) called SAS: Rogue Heroes, following the first British SAS regiment in North Africa, I highly recommend it! It's adapted from a great nonfiction book of the same name by Ben MacIntyre (I also highly recommend his work, writes some great true-story spy books, The Spy and the Traitor is a great one) Another, sadder link between great WW2 shows and this is Helen McCrory, who was married to Damien Lewis, Major Winters himself
This is in my top 10 favorite shows of all time. I can’t wait for you to get to season 2! We get a character that will immediately become a favorite of y’all’s!
This was the peak of Peaky Blinders in season one. And you should bloody well know that it only gets fookin better. By the order of the Peaky Blinders, enjoy it for fooks sake.
I love how excited you guys are about this show, it's phenomenal! I need more reactions of this! The depth of the story and characters, the emotions the show invokes hits you in the feels like when Arthur tried to hang himself you could feel his roller coaster, the fact he feels like a failure all the time and then to finally feel like he was good enough and have it all taken away was heartbreaking... Love this show!
LOVING this show with you guys! I started Vikings last night solely so I could watch your reactions to it. It's a long one but I'm in it for you guys! I trust your judgement.
Isn't this such a well written show... With both well written and strong women and well written and strong men... No-one needs to be weak for the other to be strong. A Masterclass in brilliant writing. And isn't "Oppenheimer" and "The Scarecrow" a great Back Country Gangster.....!! Brilliant writing and brilliant casting with actors that are the tops. I LOVED your reaction when you saw "Chibs" walk in the door. On to the finale.
Tommy is very direct when he do talks but theres alot of things he just doesn't say, which means he's not exactly an open book. For example the wedding in the last episode.
Tommy wouldn’t be scared of the grim reaper. The amount of times he’s threatened even with gun right to his face and he looks bored every time is so gangster. That ira guy was legit though.
yea i want toasted too, everyone knows to tell them im a "druid" so i an get the raft and fire and pushed out to sea, if they block that they are too toast me and spread me at the beach in the water, so if they want to remember me they can make it a beach day and have some fun in the sun
I love you guys’ reactions. Have you ever considered reacting to the show Penny Dreadful? It’s only 3 seasons and I really think you’d enjoy it. The actress who plays Aunt Polly has a small part in the first season but a larger role in the second.
I don't think I have seen you do Song Reaction's but seeing as you are watching Peaky Blinders, this reminds me of this Artist, musician and song writer... Called Ren. yes, just Ren. and If you Ever, get the chance, watch his music video: "Hi Ren by Ren" and please record you're reaction... You don't have to upload it. But I do believe you will any ways. (copy pasted from my post on season 1)
@@vincenzoramsay2961Just naming an actor doesn't spoil the plot or the role he's gonna play. And the guy has a point, they're gonna love it and i'm sure he'll become one of their fav characters
@@vincenzoramsay2961 I get your point, kinda. I mean, It would be a nice surprise meeting a new interesting character or realizibg your fav actor/actress Is in the show, but It definitely brings something to the table, It does not spoil the plot, yet it's kinda like a "you're just getting started, It gets even better" kinda/sorta, at least that's how I see it
@GuyWithABike_ since we are way past this point of the show, I can comment. Revealing a coming character is 100% a spoiler here. Maybe not on other channels but setting expectations or reveling future characters is here because if ruins the moment. We want to stay as blind to every aspect of the stuff we watch as possible.
You guys are great but you severely misread the show sometimes. It's been abundantly clear that Campbell wasn't gonna interrupt the love scene or anything like that. He knows he lost her. He is resigned. That was clear from the moment he sent his men home at the bar.
Love the small detail of how when arthur stands up to confront tommy, he starts to get in his face but as soon as tommy looks at him his whole demeanour drops and he immediately looks away as if to submit. Just shows how much control tommy has over everyone. well except aunt pol.
Steve and Nikki, did you know that Helen McCrory who played Aunt Pol passed away not long ago from cancer. We were gutted in the UK because Helen was a brilliant actress who starred in a lot of great shows and films. In the last episodes of Peaky B's ever made, they paid a really touching honour to Helen in the final series. Did you know that the actor who played Tommy loved his role in PB except for one thing, he hated the severe haircut he had to have...lol He also said he wouldnt play the role when Helen died as it just wouldnt be the same without her there. You may have seen her real life hubby Damian Lewis, he played the main character in the US tv show 'Billions'.
Bear in mind too, that Helen died during the final season of Peaky Blinders and yourself and Nikki havnt reached that yet, l think, obviously, that when Helen died, things would have been raw for such a tight cast as the Blinders family were (real life, not just characters) and things might have been said in the heat of the moment when emotions were fragile, we get to see stories here that you dont get to see in the US re interviews with the actors etc, so its up in the air at the mo but even if the cast decide to do more PB, its going to be a while as they are all so busy with other projects, its finding the time for them all getting back together again...lol it could be a while😊
One of the best themes of this series is the strength that the women found in running the business when the men went off to war. And how they held onto it.
Chibs' actor's scar being real makes his performances in different things that much more believable. I've never seen another actor with a legit Joker scar.
I've told my wife when I die I want to be taxidermied and just placed on the couch like I'm watching TV. They could even install a speaker with a few prerecorded sayings.
As someone adopted by a Norwegian man, and thus bearing that man’s last name… I need that shirt. Where did you get it bro? Sometimes Vikings adopted their slaves. 🤷🏼♂️😂
Aww guys, i love watching your reactions. Im in the UK and found you through watching reactions to The Walking Dead. Just love the fact you are covering The Peaky Blinders, its one of the best British tv shows everrrr 😂 I hope you are going to review the further seasons as it gets better and better 🎉
I've been waiting for this episode. I KNEW you guys would react that way when Arthur Sr showed up! 😭. "This is SO bad" (re: Arthur and his dad) you've NO idea. LOL You guys are awesome
