I hope this gets more attention, the art is immaculate

the fact that she takes the axe into her back, as Brutus did to Caesar.. the way that “innocent” can also contradict her actions and motivations as it fit perfectly with “heavy” and Brutus. You’ve made a link between two entirely separate pieces of media and I absolutely adore it.

This is criminally underrated, the expressions and colors are insane!

This is such an amazing love letter to the movie. It fits Pearl so well and honestly I think I could show this to someone who never watched Pearl in there life and they'd fully understand Pearl her motivations and her folly. This captures the caracters so well and this deserves more attention

“I hate what it feels like to be me and not you.” Pearl had said this to her speech to her sister in law Mitsy. Though, I believe she was speaking to Howard more than her sister in law. Pearl wanted a better life, she thought she deserved a better life. To be a dancer, to escape her farmhouse. This is why Pearl was filled with so much rage when Howard decided to stay with her and was broken since Howard left to fight in the war. Pearl loathed her husbands life, she loathed Mitsy. The dance audition at the church was her way outta there and yet she still failed, it’s real depressing. Especially since even in the movie X we see that she remained trapped at that farmhouse till the day she dies. Pearl never got to be happy, Pearl never got to escape, the lord never answered Pearl’s prayers. Killing Mitsy was her only victory the entire film.

the composition is top tier, and i love the way you put all the parts together with the song. the cut to the alligator for the first part of the chanting of "brutus" to the mother being the second part? immaculate. listening to this song is gonna be put in a new light for me, with this video in mind; as has been the case with many other amazing animations/animatics.
