Hitting air installations can’t cause critical hits (only naval units are subject to critical). Also per 4.1 when hitting an airbase the unalerted air units steps eliminated are chosen by the attacker.
Thanks for this video ! I love the game, never played before. Not easy to clearly understand what is allowed to do with the Allied forces with Special Rules like "in Dec '41 Allied air units cannot move (!)". How did you manage to conduct an Allied air strike while US air units are not activated ? I am just excited to jump deeper in that game !
Hopefully these videos can ease the transition. I could be wrong but I interpreted the special rule as the air units cannot relocate but are still entitled to an air mission if they are still standing after the initial battle cycle. I wouldn't get too caught up on the special rules though, most won't apply when you expand the game and hit the larger battle/campaign scenarios.
Thanks a lot for the video, helped a lot. One question: the airbase suffered more than 10 hits, so it’s interdicted and shouldn’t be able to launch air missions. Am I right?
Hits on the installation cause step reductions so I suppose it depends on the aircraft attacking - strafing would be preferred for units with higher air attacks than ground attacks values. If that wasn't the case here, it was a simple oversight on my part.
