This veteran's story left me literally in tears. I had eight uncles that served in WWII. Listening to their stories left me in awe. They were not only this country's greatest generation, they were the world's greatest. Having gone through day after day after bloody day and to have survived it all is something of superhuman quality. My paternal grandfather, a proud Polish-American, first generation, told me when I was much younger, to always shake the hand of a veteran. What they do for us is why we all are here, free and safe from harm. I thank all veterans. And I will never stop thanking all of you. My story, God Bless you.
It's so hard watching this. I found this video while doing a project, basically, I have to find stories about different people who fought in WWII. I chose, D-Day survivor, Red Tail flyer, Navajo Code Talker, and Pearl Harber survivor...needless to say, this project is giving me a new perspective of the war. I thought I knew, but hearing these men tell their stories makes my chest heavy, and all the more glad the because of their sacrifices, I can live in a better world.
Sterling is a good name for this fella, as his commitment to the armed forces of the United States through three wars shows his devotion to country to be sterling as well. I salute you, sir! Not many of you guys left after that fateful December day 78 years ago. America is proud of your service, you are an example to all.
Hello, my name is Logan Shifflet. I am writing a book on the stories of pearl harbor and I was wondering if I can get permission to use these stories for my book. If so you will be cited at the end of the book!!! Thanks, Logan
I just had the golden opportunity of meeting CSM Sterling Cale. I was so incredibly humbled and stunned by his unassuming demeanor and pure love for visitors of the Pearl Harbor Memorial where he was signing books. To be in the presence of such an amazing human being and real life hero is an opportunity I feel so incredibly blessed to have. I salute you Sir. Thank you and your family for your dedication and service to our country.
