I swear, sometimes I forget just how spoiled rotten we are to watch all of these amazing older shows at the touch of a button. If I happened to stumble across this video in 1991-1992, I probably would’ve shit my pants.
@@virginiaknighten4687 He tells the audience that jesus told them to write Jeremy then it's like someone put on mute because they don't like traumatic images the song evokes. It's stays muted until the last few verses "Jeremy spoke in class today " It's fine before and after that momentary mute 🤷♀️
My late uncle was the primary filmer of the majority of these early Pearl Jam shows that have been circulated. There are of course many others that have not been circulated. He was young and worked in the field of Journalism and he became very friendly with many of these bands and was able to film with permission and travel the country. We know for a fact that Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam was one of the primary artists that allowed him to film with permission. We have many of his old backstage passes and laminates. I'm kind of new to this live music sharing thing but I'm sure it's some point I will share more of his collection and I'm sure he would have had he lived longer.
Thanks for sharing this with us. God bless you and your uncle and he is surely in Heaven for sharing the magic of Pearl Jam with us. Those of us who couldn't be there in person but were and are still with them in spirit. Does your uncle happen to be pjvideoguy? If so, he is a true hero in my book.
@@pearljamconcertchronology . . . hiya did you ever connect with family that has additional and original PJ footage by chance? I would and 'am' dying for THE concert at The Town Pump Sept 26 1991--Vancouver. I am sure it didn't happen though in my heart of hearts. It was the most chaotic of small spaces with Eddie and boys on tiniest stage. We were covered in their sweat and I am forever grateful for going {missing an exam the next day} and hearing I Gotta Feeling for FIRST time ever in public setting...they then played it in San Fran just thereafter.
@@abeach5420 Unfortunately I haven't been able to get in touch with The Jay-Bird... Do you remember any other songs performed that night at The Town Pump? Cheers!
@@pearljamconcertchronology That is too bad you could not connect. Can you 'imagine' the content there would be!? Well it was a time they were touring TEN as it did well of course on West Coast, but as we all know it really came to be recognized well after into the next year. They had already been here with 'my' Layne {Alice in Chains)...THAT was a trip because {as we know NOW} PJ was advertised as their original name --MOOKIE BLAYLOCK. Many of us who travelled incessantly up and down West Coast to go see all the bands around 86--onward 'DID' know them as this name. Pearl Jam only changed their name like around Easter of 1991 I believe it was. Also I recall hearing from band that 'ten' was Mookie Blaylock's jersey number so that is why it was chosen. to honor/honour him. The set list that night was very TEN album focussed of course, but some songs they appeared to play didn't appear unless on special TEN albums like reissue. Just A Girl was played also I am quite sure --I remember not knowing of it and not til way later in 1991. I believe it was 9 songs in the set. It was a crazy immense night and a long time back, but one never forgets poignant moments of personal feelings & events of that night. Also due to the mosh pit in tight space with about 95% or more of people being males...well you can imagine. Also this was not a 'pitch/feedback free zone' in that tiny old space so sometimes it was hard to hear everything. Lastly it felt 'Alone' was ...different... but there now appear to be 4 versions of such, so that could make sense.

zepps88 IDK dude, I’m sure he was burning a load but doubt was habitually taking acid & swinging around from 40 ft scaffolding most nights. whatever, maybe?
Can't stop digging RU-vid for concerts from Pearl Jam, Nirvana etc from 1991 or before that. Before they've reached MTV and the larger concerts. This is like finding gold. Thanks for posting this material. Just too great. Thanks thanks thanks.
I know this is 91 right before they break huge, but 1992 Pearl Jam has to rank high on the list of greatest bands at their best, like 73-74 Zeppelin, Queen 1985, for example. Even though they're young, they were fantastic. You see that developing here.
So amazing. I mean this is only a month after Mural Amphitheater in Seattle, and that was like days before Ten was released. It's amazing to see the progression in such a short time. Pjvideoguy, you are the man!
Great when they were young and raw….great mid career….still great. I mean nothing negative by this cause PJ is my favorite all time band. But I see and hear they were a notch better live with Dave A. What a great drummer
My favorite is Pearl Jam in the 90's but also still my favorite band always, soooo much freakin energy its awesome!!!! ROCK ON PEARL JAM 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
"Once" has the feel and haunting spirit of the late Jim Morrison. " Even Flow" oozes psychedelic excitement generated in guitar riffs and drumming. More poetry in spontaneous stream of consciousness with Eddie. "State of Love and Trust" electrifies the ascension of higher consciousness. One of the best versions of "Alive" to be performed live with passion and indignation. So much divine talent brilliantly showcased in the city of enlightenment." Stone Gossard's composition "Garden" makes earth angels wanton of flight.Eddie seems to get into a shamanic trance.
ya great call. Grateful for said cam man as well as PJvidguy for sharing these. Just raw authentic gold. that 6 month period after conception. glorious
Oh Boy look at all the fun they had in the beginning. Before the machine tried to take over. During those years when Eddie would just stand there. But still always singing his ass off. Great concert thanks for posting. Peace, love.
I like the part when there were performing garden 24:35 and the band was stilling playing when Eddie broke it up and made them make up and then finished the song great performance That’s what any performer should do #PJ
I remember this show. A few friends and myself rode our choppers to this show. Never heard of them. We always got in free because we new Vinnie the door man. This night was a little different. I noticed a few vip tables . I just thought it was another A&R show. By the time Pearl Jam came out the place was packed. I was up front off to the side so i could get a good view of the drummer. By there second song i was looking around the room to make sure i was not the only one who was blown away by these guys. The new scene has begun in frisco and it was a blast.
I got there super early and grabbed a seat at the very front under the stage. I was NOT prepared for the 2,000 person mosh pit that formed. What a show. Pure electricity and feral hunger.
From the non existent lead guitar levels to the constant feedback from Eddie’s mic, it’s clear that club’s sound engineers were incompetent… if they had any to begin with. A shame because that version of Wash (even w/ the mic feedback) showed it had the makings of a great show.
Pjvideoguy, hey,I thank you for bringing me so much Pearl Jam, my all time favorite band!! If ever you'd like and can take a friend to one of these gigs in Northern Cali, I'm your girl!
I like the conversation between the guy and the girl at 33:53. He says "He blows away Chris Cornell right now, Chris Cornell was up there with me." She says, "who is Chris Cornell?" He replies, "You know, Soundgarden" lol. Was the videographer in Sound Garden? What band does she say to check out? Also, the stage dive at 43:10. Jeez, did no one catch Eddie Vedder?
He went after somebody in the crowd, drops the mic in mid singing and leaps over the people in front to get at someone, that's why the crew went in after him. Earlier he was telling someone in the crowd to stop it, maybe he was policing them himself.
Whoever was at this concert was sooo very lucky, soo freakin jealous! In fact any Pearl Jam concert, I have never been to one soo sad been a fan since they started even when Eddie was in Bad Radio I've watch video of him.
Mee too!! Only one thing on my bucket list, to see Pearl Jam ❤️ I wished I would of seen them in their early years but it is what it is, wish there was time travel I be there right now!! I hope your doing well Virginia.
@@laurawatters914 hey there..I’m okay just wondering how I would have been at this concert. I can only imagine that I would lose my ever lovin mind. Just adore Eddie and The Boys so much.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Hope you are doing good and had a Happy Easter. Low key here🐣
Julianny Mestriner I think you're talking about the Five and Live bootleg that was from England at the end of February in 1992? That audio bootleg was compiled from several shows, I know Newcastle was one 'cause during Once EV says he likes Newcastle. I know that there's a good video of that show in particular on pjvideoguys channel...
43:10 that was clearly not a crowd surfing jump, it was a 'there's shit going down and i'm going to deal with it' jump. he went into the crowd several times to stop fights during this show.
