If there was ever a moment to show how humble, down to earth and kind these guys are, it's this.

OMG...just a powerful interview. Steve not only asked the questions that many fans wanna ask, but he got the answers. I think is the first time i see Jeff open like that as well as Eddie sharing that info about his dad. Mind blowing interview!!!

New appreciation for Jeff after his comment about struggling with having kids vs not having kids, the pressures people can put on you for your choices and how they can be insensitive about these things. I needed to hear that today.

When Eddie mentioned the early years and that people liked it, I think it’s because we all go through some form of late teen/early adulthood angst; and it’s a huge rush of newness; in the form of freedom, rights, accountability, and revolt. The emotion and passion you feel in those years is intense; and you can see and feel that in their performance as youths. It makes me nostalgic but also reminds me of the drive I once had and assurance that I was going to make something of myself. You guys were perfectly imperfect in your youth and we love you for it, because we all feel it too.

I absolutely loved this interview... I recently lost a very close friend Paul to ALS on Feb 11, 2017, after a near 5 year battle... He was only 32 years old. After watching Paul's health steadily decline and how stoic he was in dealing with everything that was happening to him, it's easy for me to say that he is strongest person I've ever had the opportunity of knowing.. Bar none.. Like Paul, Steve Gleason is a hero beyond the scope of words... And, though I cannot begin to imagine the torment, pain and confusion that comes with an ALS diagnosis, I can imagine that those suffering from this disease would be proud to know that there's someone like Steve out there fighting for them and enhancing the lives of those affected and truly making a real difference... Truthfully, I cried throughout the entire documentary, but in the end was left with an overall feeling of love and compassion, and a new appreciation for life... Thank you Steve for your honesty, courage and love.... You are a true inspiration, and Paul would have been proud to have you on his team. Uhh, watching Eddie talking about his dad was heartbreaking. Tears are definitely flowing right now. I really wish I'd been born earlier so I could've experienced their music from the beginning. I was born in 1991 and never really heard any of their music until 2004 or so, definitely been catching up ever since though. Its so great to watch these interviews. Great questions from Steve all around!

My wife and I watched Gleason last night. I've NEVER cried at a movie before, but after this show, we were both weeping. This was fucking powerful. And Eddie's 1 on 1 with Steve, talking about fatherhood, hit me like a ton of bricks. You're a great man Eddie and Steve is inhumanly strong willed.

I am at a loss for words. The honesty shared between Steve and PJ is truly remarkable. I am proud of both parties and couldn't be happier for them.

Steves one on one with Eddie made this grown man cry like a baby, powerful stuff.

The conversation that starts at 44:00 is so beautiful. As a woman, it is so fascinating to watch men express their emotions that way. You men cry beautifully. There is something about the way you try to fight it, and hold back - it makes you look, in a way, regal and strong. Just don't forget that crying is not weakness, nor is there anything wrong with showing weakness on occasion. Anyway, Eddie and Steve looked so beautiful there!

I don't have any words that accurately express my love of PJ. They were also the soundtrack of my teens and college years and I am better for it. Pearl Jam and John Prine have given me so much. Thank you.

Ouch that was a hardball question to Jeff about kids….one of those things that starts out completely harmless but full of meaning. So strange how something like that can change the temperature in a room. I enjoyed his interview with the guys more than the others I have seen so far

This interview simply brought tears to my eyes (in a good way). It's beyond amazing how dedicated, genuine, and human these guys are! Steve makes one hell of an interviewer! And kudos to Jeff and Eddie for handling those extremely personal questions with such openness... I wish I was somewhat old enough in the 90s to experience, truly understand, and even appreciate the impact of their music. I'm just really glad they've managed to stay together long enough for me to catch up (though I'm still catching up)! And it's really nice to see many young people (even some in their teens) enjoy PJ's music and the band overall.

My dad died in a plane crash when I was 8 months old. The conversation that starts at 44:20 really resonates with me. I have no memories of him but I always wanted to know as much as I can of what type of man he was.

My father passed away of MND (ALS) 3 years ago, when his lungs one day decided they had enough. We played Just Breathe at the funeral. Perfect fit for my Dad.

I just tried for about 10 mins to make a comment about Eddie and Steve's conversation about the journal. Can't express what I feel with words. Tough to watch, but just unreal seeing two men of that calibre talking so honestly over things like that. I've got so much respect for Steve, and even more respect for Eddie than I already did. Don't think I've ever watched such a powerful interview in a long, long time. Sad, but amazing nonetheless.

Living in New Orleans and watching the Saints my whole life, and my father passing away a year before they won the Superbowl, and going through Katrina, that team and specifically watching that first game when Steven blocked the punt , and I was behind bars at that time, such an emotional moment, damn... The challenges of life, you really have to cherish every moment and tell your family you love em bc they aren't and you aren't guaranteed tomorrow, so, you gotta fucking dig that spirit from deep inside and fight on. Soo many things I wanna say, just can't ....hope some of that made sense.

What amazes me is that this is one of the better musician interviews i've watched in general, which is crazy considering the interviewer is not a musician and has to use a voice synthesizer.

The segment with Eddie Vedder talking about his dad shows how human he is. It is one of the reason I love this band. These people are just guys like you and me and are just lucky enough to get to do what they love. We should all be so lucky!

That stuff Ed says about trust, is bang on. My father was not in the picture at all really and I am 48 today and still have trouble trusting. Arrested my development into an adult is some way that is hard to describe. PJ is an amazing band. Been a fan since I saw the Even Flow video when I was in university back in 91. Have only seen them once live back in 1993 with Neil Young in Toronto. In the last couple of years I have rediscovered PJ and it is like new all over...thanks Ed, thanks PJ. Cheers.

You know after 20 something years of playing together they have had thier ups & downs but have done nothing but get better! They are true musicians playing from life experiances of what surounds them & from the heart. I too am just like Steve in the sence that they have also played the musical scores for my life, they would be missing for a few years but that would give me the chance to re-listen to the older albums (CD's). Lol, thanks Pearl Jam. Keep on doing what you do best.

This is among the top video content that I have ever seen. It was very interesting as any good interview should be; but it was also emotionally powerful at times. I've been a fan of Pearl Jam's music since I was 15 years old. But this interview humanizes these guys and makes them relateable in a way that brings them out of the realm of the untouchable, and into the realm were we mere mortals exist. Not only is this just a world class band, but they are also a group of really fucking great guys. Anyone lucky enough to be able to call any of these guys a friend, is lucky indeed.

Wow . I was a 20 year old kid / student with no money at all, but it didnt matter - cause I had Pearl Jam. and so many years later, they are still MY band. They are like Led Zeppelin. Forever there. Forever Omnipresent in your mind. Like Soundgarden too of course But so many years later - this guy says what I felt was true: Sirens and Infallible proved to me that this band is for the ages - many ages to come. Thank you guys. When I saw the documentary, I was like, “Pearl Jam needs to do something for this fan.” Thank you so much for this and everything you did for him. 🥰🥰🥰 More people need to do nice stuff for the less fortunate. I’m glad my parents raised me to always think and do that.

i love pearl jam so much. not just there music, but all of them as people too. they all seem so nice and caring and just do things there way and dont give a shit. also they make real music reguardless if u like it o if its good they make what they want. you damn well know there not listening to fake ass producers and that tell them to do this and that, and agree to do shit against what they want just to sell a couple of albums.

I think everyone should watch this interview, their some Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder haters out there, and it really upset me!!
