Eric did an awesome job on this video. He didn't try to make the beginning drummer feel stupid and explained everything well. It's crazy he made an entry-level Pearl kit sound great. Just goes to show it's the player more than it is the high-end gear. Also I don't remember my Pearl cymbals ever sounding that good. But I do remember they would bend not break. Lol I still had the high hats and the Crash ride forever till I finally gave them away to a kid learning to play drums
My first drum set was a Pearl Forum kit in 1998. The sounds of the turning tension rods and the various clanks and clunks of the hardware are giving me wicked nostalgia.😣
I remember watching this dvd when i received my first drumset for Christmas when I was 13. Best Christmas ever, I remember crying tears of joy. Good times.
I remember watching this while putting my first drum set together and being so excited. Very helpful and inspiring at the time! Thank you for uploading!
First time i've seen this. I have been an Eric Singer fan since his Badlands days. I have been playing Pearl drums since 1991. Studio sessions #110 Sequioa Red! Love these drums!!!!!
este baterista fue el primero que vi con doble pedal hace mas de 15 años y me hipnotizo y me influyo hoy ya uso doble pedal yo gracias por ese aporte !!!!
Paul said it best when he said "Eric played like a monster". Please youtube Eric in action for Stanley's 1989 solo tour and look how he destroys the drums on "Tonight you belong to me". I love his cymbal work during that song and the way he's playing that ride is killer, that ping sounds crazy. A beast he is and a huge inspiration to all. Love you bro and great Pearl video too.... rock on 🤘
One of the great hard rock drummers in the business there's a reason why Lita Ford wanted him Gary Moore Black Sabbath Alice Cooper battlelands they are one Eric singer as their drummer kiss got him made him a part of the family they knew they was getting a top-notch drummer his drumming on Revenge Kiss Alive 3 and Carnival of Souls is just bad ass and he's been with the band over 20 years now
Excellent ! I watched, paused, and assembled. On my kit, Prior to assembly, I coated all chromed metal parts (the hoops, hooks, tension rods, tension casings, tom legs, rack tom mount) with silicon lube , or chrome metal polish. If you don't, plan on using a lot of steel wool years later. I found out the hard way.
Eric Singer is a solid drummer and I have seen him with Kiss and Alice but I would like to have seen more on the rudiments because as well as timing it is the grasp of rudiments which sets apart good drummers from great drummers. Ask Anton Fig who incorporates some lovely fills on Ace's solo album as well as Frehley's Comet.
Eric has a great grasp on the rudiments and like you said is a super solid player in general, but I honestly think his playing gets a bit repetitive sometimes (especially in recent years w/KISS...).
Man... I'm young (26) and still feel like everything was so much more simple back a 2 or 3 decades ago. Do they ship drumsets with a video like this? Not anymore. Sure, you can find everything on the internet, but it will take a beginner customer is significantly harder. Thanks for uploading this! I love how Eric got lost "playing time in the end" and started an epic solo instead... but what an instructor!
My mother and older sister surprised me christmas morning of 2003 with a pearl fourm kit. I was years trying to convince my mother i wanted to play, but as a single mother it was just too expensive. Luckily my sister believed in me and convinced my mother to share the cost between them. I was absolutely blown away, speeches, and greatful! I watched THIS very VHS countless times. Always fast forwarding to the double bass sections lol Im happy to say im still drumming today with countless demos, two studio albums, Many many gigs, so many hours jamming, and a couple years ago my band was opening up for "Finger eleven", and "I mother earth". I gave my guest pass to my sister. I Couldn't of done it without her :)
& what's up with them cymbals? Can't be the econo ones Pearl used to make (sound too good) I'm guessin they stamped their logo on some better cymbs that wouldn't crack while he was playin em 😆
