@joniwankenobi soundwise It wont matter. If you want an extra channel get the II. The 5150 I are pretty cheap and common used so I would go with one of those.

I don't know what he's referring to but inverted power chords are a thing... It's a fourth plus octave..

Everything you said made perfect sense actually. An inverted power chord is technically just a fourth interval, but inverted power chord gets the point across, especially when talking to metalheads. The only other thing is that when basically the whole song is in triplets you would just refer to it as being in a 6/8 or 9/8 time signature, but again, just saying triplets works fine and probably gets the point across better.

@fearedse epic win for daddario for sure. which set is 12-60? The 7 string set they have only goes to .59 I run an Agile AL3100 Les Paul copy with 13-70 in drop B. Recently picked up an Ibanez SZ320 and finding I like it's tone waaay more with the same gauges. Maybe Ibanez is an essential part of your sound?

@TrackStriker They have a similar sound, but that's just because he's getting HIS sound out of the amp, which is how it's supposed to be. Tell me what settings your guitarist uses on his amp and I might be able to give some advice

they're in the beginning bass is cut, mids are cut, treble is boosted, preamp gain at about 7 i think?

are you blind? haha. No one ever should put the pre amp knob past 6 on a 5150 II. In this case Ola has it around 5.

i love how well the 6505 tends to sit in the mix. they seem to be good at getting out of the way of everything else. of course in this case most of the credit goes to ola for mixing it well.

@aris17561 it depends if you have unlimited cash get the savage cause it's a more full fledged amp. If you're low on cash and don't need to many channels a 5150 is the way to go.
