I did once get a different finish. That was when I used a cellulose based glass paint on the "wrong" type of plastic. I've never had a difference with these Pebeo glass paints andI've tried quite a few different surface. The main different seem to depend on whether you are painting a flat surface or a curved/upright one. ith the flat one you can use the flood fill technique which you can't do in other situations.

agreed also they show the transparency of the colors on the side of the colors, so you know how much you need to lighten it up.

Hi, thanks for your question. I tend to stay away from Porcelain 150 paints as, as far as I know, they are opaque paints and therefore not something I would use on glass. I've had mixed results with that. Some colours were OK whilst others creased up even though I gave it a couple of days between coats. My idea was to use double coats in some areas to give it an appearance of shading. It is something I shall return to when I get a bit of time.

Hi. Good luck with your project, I'd love to see some photos of it when you are done. You might like to watch the two videos we have of using this paint on doors and windows although we don't work directly on the glass as I've always found it difficult to get a good finish like that. (unless you can get the glass out and work flat).

I will be working on the windows flat before they're installed in the wall. Do you find mixing colors gives you muddy results? I'm trying to decide between ordering the small 45ml bottles (lots of colors) or trying to mix what I need from the bigger 250ml bottles (fewer colors, but more quantity). The windows are going to be color studies, so I'll need precise colors. Thanks again for your tips- I've looked around a lot online, and while there's lots of "how tos" I can't seem to get much personal experience in how the paint works, which is what I'm looking for!

I've never had an issues mixing colours EXCEPT when using black or white which tend to be more opaque than the others. Having said that things will differ brand to brand so it might be worth either asking the distributor or buy a small quantity of paint to experiment with first.

Hi, I'm not sure I can be too much help with this question as it isn't something I've tried! I've lightened the colour using the clear but as that is the same thickness as the other paints it doesn't make it any thinner. Pebeo recommend "a small quantity of Vitrail thinner or odourless mineral spirits and stir thoroughly". Having never tried it my self I can only suggest adding "less" seeing how it is and then adding more if neccessary. I certainly wouldn't start with something more than 5-10%. Do you intend "swirling" the paint around the inside of the jar?

Much better to clean it up as you go along. Cleaning agents can spread it around. You can also find that some of the cleaning agent may get onto your work and ruin pars you have painted. When I'm working with adhesive lead I tend to keep a cotton bud to hand and that deals with any paint I want to get rid of on the lead. (Only the lighter coloured leads are an issue. If you are using Ivory/Black lead then little bits of transparent paint on it don't show nuless they are the solid white).

Yes, sorry, some of the "camera work" in these earlier videos is a bit suspect. We've now changed to using two or even 3 camera as you will see in the videos we've produced in the last couple of years.
