Continuing the story of the Peckforton Light Railway, this episode brings us more or less up to date. The previous episodes tell the story of the birth of the railway in 2004 and chart its progress through the early days of track power, through battery radio control and how its infrastructure developed through the year. In this episode, we follow the impact of various technologies on the way the railway is run and how models are constructed. Thanks Dunc. Your railroad looks pretty fine too! Your eyesight must be a lot better than mine - one reason I've opted for large-scale ... ;-)

Nice work again! Love to see the amount of lore behind the Peckforton, and the amount of work you’ve put in!

It would be nice to see a video concentrating on the sand quarry siding, how you actually get the sand back for it to be loaded again etc.
@rikbennett9
@rikbennett9 3 года назад
A possibility. In truth, the loads are removable and so I pop them out at the main station, carry them across the garden and pop them back in when the train reaches the quarry siding.
@SteamLance

@@rikbennett9 Ah so its not actual sand then?
@rikbennett9
@rikbennett9 3 года назад
Well, the sand is real, but it has been congealed into a solid mass covering carved foam blocks. Most of the loads on or in my wagons are removable so they can run loaded in one direction and empty on the way back.

I've been informed that Bole Laser Craft have some Southwold kits (I think the reason the messages couldn't be posted is because they contained a web link). The system wouldn't allow me to approve them but will allow me to post the link - bolelasercraft.com/product-category/rolling-stock/common-carrier-kits/

PS - I have posted the .STL files for the wagons on the gardenrails.org forum. You have to register to access them, but they are free to download
