This is the first section of Pedal for Pongo, Anthrospin's documentary on animal and environmental conservation. This episode follows us from Providence, Rhode Island to Bridgeport, Connecticut. We visit the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, and zookeeper Kelly Froio explains some of the roles that zoos play in conservation. We also reflect on the shared history of zoos and anthropology and why the two mesh very well as subject matter for these types of discussions.
We then reflect on the accessibility and adaptability of cycling, as well as the first leg of our ride.
This program is available in full on DVD at anthrospin.bigcartel.com without interruptions, with higher quality audio and video, and with a whole load of bonus features.

Lastly, this episode is broken off of the entire film, which runs for over an hour. Sometime really weird things happen. It was reviewed during editing, again when made into this episode, and again before upload. IF I MISSED SOMETHING STUPID, and there's an audio spike or dropoff, or an image is randomly flipped, etc., please let me know. These things get missed sometimes because neither technology nor humans are perfect.
