Acrylic will not fix ingrowns. We also do not recommend applying acrylic to toenails. Since acrylic is porous, it's not a good compound to have sitting in potentially dark and damp shoes. (potential fungus breeding ground)

It sounds like onyfix is a hard gel? Is that correct? Cannot be soaked off.

u can achieve the same results with uv/led gel in a tube. or use polygel type system. works for pincher nails too. yes, once the nail grows out and the product is at the tip u will need to file down the existing product and reapply at the cuticle area. i am a nail tech and do this to my own pincher toes, works for nails too. wish i had known b4 i had my big toe nails removed due to ingrown sidewalls. that was unbearably painful.

@@EricasNails Unfortunately, people have to use what they can get. Onyfix, for whatever reason, is only available in large $500 packages, for pedicurists. I would love it if someone can share before and after pictures or video with me of treatment with anything that works to fix the curvature of the nail, other than surgery, especially a product that I can actually get that doesn't have a ridiculous price.

@@EricasNails Good idea. I want to try this. I think surgery will only make it worse in the long run. I want my nail to naturally correct itself.

I went to a podiatrist. The only answer he could give me was surgery. His nurse was already getting all the needles and everything ready for me before I even spoke to anyone. I asked if he knew about any braces or non-surgical treatment that could help. He said "no". He didn't know anything about toenail braces. I left and went home and ordered a springy metal toenail brace off of Amazon and it took away my pain. It has not fixed the curvature of my nail, but has kept my nail from painfully growing into my skin for several years. All the podiatrist could tell me about was surgery that made him good money. (He wanted to remove the outer 2 or 3 mm of my nail on both sides of my toe, permanently leaving just a thin strip in the middle. I was only about 36 or so at the time.) He just didn't know about anything else... You would think that someone that specializes on feet, and only feet, would know about braces like what I used and what is shown in this video, which I think is what I need. This sort of thing is why I think many doctors are just in the profession for money and prestige, rather than to actually help people. If you go to a doctor, it's about finding a good one that isn't just there to make money. This is what happens when professions get paid too much money, like medical people, especially doctors, do, in the US. You have too many people in the profession that are just there for the money.
