This is not the only live recording of Iberia as there are many different pianist's playing the work on youtube. The pianist in this recording is phenomonal. On top of marvelous technique and musicianship his use of color is very very fine.
Nice. Very, very, nice. I read that Albinez' widow stated that the composer never intended all the notes to be played, that what he wrote was all the choices one could make during a given performance and it was up to the pianist to decide what to include. Still, every note has a role in the overall effect of the performance and enjoyed this performance immensely. Thank you for posting!
I cannot recall having heard the melodic lines played so cleanly and emotionally. What a delightful performance! His use of dynamics takes my breath away.
Gracias Isidro Riera.
Senor Isidroriera: 12 for 12! well done.. This is all extraordinary, yes, Gracias! -but- where is "7, 9, &, 11" please up-load the interstial remainders; for all the inspired abundance of all you have already posted of this master, they are missed. Thank you, for these.
Jose Luiz, this is a live performance, and vey lively. Gonzalez's performance is also enjoyable, but slightly less lively and, on You Tube at least, a recording studio recording. I deprecate the use of words like 'boss' in such a context, especially as I do not agree, very good indeed as Gonzalez is. There is plenty of room for both.
