An absolutely incredible song. I'm more inclined to playing Jazz on my sax, but this song has got me back into classical. It provokes so many different emotions, it is truly one of the greatest sax songs of all time.

An actual intense saxophone piece that goes over 16th notes into the 32 notes, bending, glissandos, fast staccatoed scale raises with a main note in between each ( E C C C F C C C F# C C C G C C C G# [if that makes sense] ), calm and quiet then loud and vibratoed parts, and also resembles a violin piece...... quite *h o t*

Start Slow. VERH VERY VERY slow. Like to the point that it feels stupid, then still lower it by 10 clicks. Start off with each 16th = 70BPM, then slowly speed it up by 5 clicks after you nail it at the tempo twice of three times in a row.

idk if i am the only one that can hear this but if you listen you can hear the sounds of the buttons being pressed at some parts from the alto saxophone
@ice-iu3vv
@ice-iu3vv 9 месяцев назад
thats always going to happen whenever the microphone is placed close to the sax. and if you move it further away, there isnt good stereo separation. so its always a tradeoff. you wouldnt be able to hear that in a live performance because the sound of key noise doesnt carry very far. but long story short, its normal on sax recordings. a lot of people hate it, but over time we get used to it.

The cadenza is ad lib, meaning the performer makes it up themselves. For a piece like this its extremely likely that the soloist planned out exactly what they were going to play. If you're talking about the specific technique he was using, he was playing a note then playing it again using an alternate fingering to give it a different tone.

@@tylerwelch9596 it's not actually ad libbed, the performer was playing a written part (that's found on the soloist score), but yes the alternate fingering thing is used during the cadenza, fingers 4+5+6 for A and 5+6+C for G
