Pedro Ruimonte lamentations GRAINDELAVOIX live-recording 

Os escribo desde Zaragoza, y aunque no soy aragonés como Ruimonte, aquí vivo desde hace casi 40 años. Vuestra interpretación de las Lamentaciones es magnífica: resulta un gran acierto que prestéis tanta atención al 'grano de la voz' y a los estilos ornamentales renacentistas. La oigo con mucha frecuencia, también vuestra 'Messe de Nostre Dame', y me sirve para continuar viviendo, pensando y sintiendo. Contemporánea de Ruimonte fue Teresa de Ávila, que decía: 'Nada te turbe Nada te espante Todo se pasa' Muchas gracias y enhorabuena.

H0w can such a beautiful rendition of such beautiful music garner only 63 likes in three years time?! Very good sound engineering as well, as far as I can tell!

Nice balance overall. The sopranos add a good color and body to the ensemble, if slightly excessive with the vibrato.

It’s nice. It’s lovely. It’s well performed. The phrases are graceful, the suspensions and cadences are satisfying. But I’m not getting a sense of direction, of where it’s going, at any given moment. It’s too meandering. But I haven’t studied the score. No doubt there are subtleties that escaped me.
