Another show from the archives… Pedro The Lion performs at the Ridglea Theater in Fort Worth, TX, May 14, 2002. The band recently released "Phoenix" -- their first album in 15 years, and are currently touring in the states… check them out if you have the chance!

It's a really great album! I lost my faith too but still love it as an atheist now... good storytelling and perhaps foreshadowed the change of perspective that would come for a lot of us as we grew into adulthood, depression, alcoholism, pessimism, or whatever else was on the horizon

It's weird, his range is better now (and sounds better on some songs) but I still like this style way better for some reason

I really wish I knew what alternate-tuning Dave is using on A Mind of Her Own... I've been trying to figure this out for such a long time. I want to learn how to play this the correct way. You can clearly see him tempering with the tuners before the song.. any idea anyone haha.

@@PrototheDodo Hey, thanks for replying on my 3 years old comment haha I already tried it since then but i'm fairly certain there's more trickery involved, Bazan being Bazan it's always deceitfully "easy" I'll keep experimenting and i'll reach back when I get it. In a few other videos from that era we can see him tuning the G and/or B strings as well. Alto you might be right with the drop-D, probably a mix of both. Stay tuned

I love the sound of Control, but lyrically the songs are just so hard to listen to from a vibe standpoint. They're well written, but huge mood killers unless I'm in a really dark place lol

Aw man, I love the lyrics. He captures reality and the status quo using satire in a way no one else can. Control has to be one of my favorite albums in the world.
