The feminists speakers so far have seemed sort of silly. "The women are the mature ones" > 'i need a visa marriage' 'i need to have a baby like pretty fucking quick.' Men have no inner-monologue? They're British and haven't read Shakesphere? Every character in this show is vain and self-centered :D grasping at cliche social norms or trying desperately to subvert them. It's true to life because that's how we all are; I don't think this is the proper show to tack some sort of agenda onto :D we're all humans and by default our core motivations are base or based on fallacy... This show made most of the male and female characters stupid and fanciful. Feminists should stick to making sure every object and job title has a unisex name (who doesn't love futility); the only ones who will make a difference in women's rights are non-extremist and logical (that's like 1 out of every thousand of them)
of course the columnist at 1:12 is completely oblivious how pretty much all female characters on Peep Show are as much of trash as the males (Aussie girl, Elena, Sophie, Nancy, the AnR manager, Tony, etc.) yet she only calls out the males as childish. God women can be so insufferable
Actually the shit thing is its not necessarily just women that push that narrative in media, these days. Plenty of desperate seedy dudes that do it, presumably because that will entitle them to something they want from women (it won't).
