To be fair, there are other crimes in Peep Show which are part of the comedy. Peep Show at least seriously points out that it is rape.

@@RonniePickaring Whilst he wasn't penetrated he was violated against his will which if it was the other way around in whatever form would be a serious sexual assault at worst. However,I've never known a case brought against a woman for having sex with a man against his will.

I don't know what it is about Super Hans that I find so damn true to life. He's a rebellious rocker who thinks he knows better than everyone but actually believes silly things and has a totally closed mind. He takes stands on principle that only hurt him, as in the case of "Free the Paedos," he quits at the slightest frustration, has Daddy and authority issues. He might be the single most dysfunctional character ever written.

I believe that's the first of a handful that wasn't written by the regular writers, but a guest writer. I think they tend to be more like someone "writing in the style of" but that one was funnier than I remembered... always good to see it with you, Josh.

The "I'm not a lesbian, Mark," comment runs so deep. He never suggested she was, but she seems like it. She's the daughter of a military man and likely feels ashamed about her sexuality, knows that Mark and her father get along, and this is how she maintains the illusion of straightness for her father long-term. It's a great little jab at the military culture Mark is so fascinated with.

@@Ennis85 Good shows like this don't happen by accident. There's a lot of intentional subtext woven between the lines that make the jokes land harder, even if you don't consciously realise it. It's one of those things where, if it's done right, you're not supposed to notice it. But the craft of screenwriting, and indeed writing in general, is deep and intricate.

Why does it have to be an illusion? What if she's just a tomboy in the army who finds it hard to talk to men - and generally speaking men are not attracted to masculine women. She didn't jump on his sleeping penis to please her dad, that's a lot of bs and that sort of mentality is why so many kids are confused and fk'd about gender and sex in this day age.
