This is the thing that KILLS ME when people go into slavery debates.....it's almost never mentioned by the left that there were a number of prosperous black slave owners too and that Africans were selling their own people during the Atlantic Slave Trade era.....why is that? Because it turns the premise from a race based one to an economic based one and indicates you needed money to own slaves regardless of who you were, plus it turns a major portion of the personal accountability for those events back on traditional Africans participating in the slave trade. I guess it's much easier to turn away from the reality that your own people kicked off those events and that white people participated who had money to do so, but it's easier to blame "the evil white man" for the totality of such events and remain entrenched in the aura of victim hood.

For a podcast yes, but i wish they filtered these videos more. Sometimes i just prefer two of them instead of 4 people talking. You can never tell apart if it's a podcast clip or an actual new video.

There were a lot of Irish that worked damn near right alongside blacks in “ building the country”. Hell I’ve even read that Irish came cheap so they were sent to do more dangerous work because if they died doing it then it was cheap to replace with another Irishman whereas black slaves cost more to purchase.

Definitely would have been built with or without them. Pre Civil War, their labor was definitely used outside of agriculture, but not exclusively by any means. Most white people built their own houses, and helped build the towns as well. There were places in the Midwest and northwest that were initially built with virtually zero black labor. Everyone played a part.

Do a search for where it is legal to have a slave today. Many countries, including Saudi Arabia.

They didn't enslave in Southeast Asia though, they mostly did it in Southern Europe and Northern Africa.

I had my cheek slit open at 5 living in the projects, we had bricks thrown through our windows, dumpster in front of our house set on fire, mobs in front of our house yelling racist slurs telling us to leave etc. we were one of only two white families. Bad stuff happens in all areas.

When I was a kid in a black neighborhood, I was definitely bullied and beat up because I was white. I was jumped three times (once was just three girls), but the other two times, I was lured behind the apartment building by "friends". It was always by people older and bigger than me. I didn't have much, but i was robbed for my bike, football, and baseball equipment on different occasions. They made it perfectly clear that it was because I was white. My family moved to a mostly white neighborhood when I was going into high school. We had a few black families living there, but we all got along, and no one got beat up for their skin color. The only times that I have ever been shot at were in black neighborhoods. That's just my experience tho. In highschool, I hung out with all races. Now I keep to myself, and mind my business, because all people are crazy.
