I appreciate you sharing what you put in your Sendak case. I am seriously considering it.

I bought a clear, thin cutting board at the dollars store and cut it to fit the palette. That way it protects the leather from the paint, and I can use the plastic cutting board as a mixing area. I just wipe it off before I put it back in the palette.

Nice supplies. The "china marker" is also called a "grease pencil", and it is made of wax.

Hi... you can never have too many palettes! LOL... with regard to Lamy nib...I purchased the gold one and I have to say I can notice a big difference between using that and the standard one... I'd buy another but they're so expensive...for a nib! thanks for sharing.

Jeanette Gillings that is clearly my philosophy-haha. I think the Lamy gold nib writes beautifully, it’s just very spendy. I think it is leaps and bounds above the regular nib.

@@MysteryArts too true! I think it's about $135 in Australia... ridiculous... glad to see your subscription numbers are increasing... you deserve it! thanks for the great videos... very informative and entertaining... take care..

The artist roll looks really nice. Is there an option for no leather? You said you can press hard on the PN Micron, but don't press too hard. My nib is now smaller on the right side and it is not usuable anymore. So don't press too hard!

I think if you press too hard on anything, it can break, but good to know that the Micron PN is not indestructible. I don't think there is an option for no leather on the artist rolls, but you can always reach out to Peg & Awl and ask if they would do that.

Awesome video thank you! Do you recommend this roll over the superior labor one if you had to choose? I'm debating between the two
@MysteryArts

Depends on what you want to use it for. If more organization is what you need, this one would be the better choice. They are both very nice though.

@@MysteryArtsthank you for the quick response! I'm looking for organization, but also primarily a watercolor set up. My main concern with the sendak was it would be too heavy/bulky when stuffed, is this the case for you? Also durability since it's not leather how has it held up for you these past few years compared to the superior labor rolls? Your videos have been so helpful comparing everything, yet I'm still torn! Haha 😅

@@WitNWhimsyWrites thank you! The Sendak is pretty light even when full-there is also a mini option if you don’t need as much space. The waxed canvas holds up really well and I haven’t had any wear and tear issues. My only issue with the Sendak is that some of the pen slots are a little small for my writing implements, but there are so many compartments that it’s not really an issue. If I were you I would get the Sendak for a travel watercolor kit-there is a lot more versatility with it. A regular sized black travel palette fits very well and, with this larger one, you can fit a sketchbook too. No contest for me for watercolor. The other is better for holding fountain pens, which is how I use it mostly-the slots in the Sendak are a little small for most fountain pens.

@@MysteryArts Thank you SO MUCH for the insanely quick replies on such an old video. Wonderful! I will save up for a sendak then. Your insight has been tremendously helpful! Have a great day!!

Do you think fountain pens will fit the brush slot?
@MysteryArts
@MysteryArts 2 года назад
The slots are pretty narrow, so only thin ones will fit-but you can always fit them in the back row of wider pockets.

Do A5 instead of A6 sized sketchbooks fit ?
@MysteryArts
@MysteryArts Год назад
No, a5 is too large.

Ceit De Vitto I got it from the UK here: www.woad.org.uk/html/woad-paint_2.html?redirect=false. When I purchased it a while ago, the shipping was quick, but it may be longer now.
