Pegswood Station in Northumberland, one stop north of Morpeth would be a great potential candidate in my view to become 'Pegswood Parkway' - it is well sited to offer interconnection with local buses (mostly the 35 bus between Morpeth and Newbiggin By The Sea but other buses could run via Pegswood if rail service is developed.
Pegswood is an existing station that simply needs more services to call there as an initial 'quick win' - the existing station has ramped access and is within easy reach of Morpeth, Ashington and Newbiggin by bus offering excellent connectivity, particularly to/from North Northumberland and Scotland for these towns.
As for car parking, Pegswood Station currently has none at all, but a large agricultural field lies close by to the SW of the station, and is sandwiched between the east coast mainline and A197 Pegswood Bypass, this latter road offering connections to A1, A697 and A1068 without entering the urban area.
