Pekora had built both firework traps to be non-lethal and even tested them on herself. The first time at Subaru's office, Pekora simply neglected to account for how Subaru walks around without wearing any armors, unlike Pekora who's always decked out. As for this recent accident at Pekoland, Subaru's keyboard malfunctioned at the worst possible moment and prevented her from moving away from the flame. That's not Pekora's fault; other HoloMems were able to simply walk away from the fire. Of course, negligent homicide or manslaughter still count as crime... and Pekora conveniently forgot about a few of her traps that were designed and intended to be lethal.

moona hasn't gone through any test of yours? are you joking peko? look back at it all, Moona went through life and death with you, died few times on her first day of work, fight along side with you and sacrificed herself with the Wither boss, many times bravely test out your contraptions/traps without questions, do many sideline things for you and make it easy for you to build stuff. Has Moona been through enough peko? have mercy on the poor moon.

Actually it pretty common in RL company, when it's small it will not too picky selecting the employee as long as they have the same vision with the founder, but as the company grows larger, more people want to join, then, of course, the company will start to do some selection tests.

The Slime "Trap" was designed to trap slimes, not other HoloMems. Pekora was talking about traps specifically designed and configured to be lethal. It wasn't Pekora's fault that Rushia kept falling because she didn't know how to climb the scaffolding safely.
