По словам Матвиенко, музыка была написана им под влиянием эмоций, испытанных после крупной авиационной катастрофы, которая произошла 31 октября 2015 года над центральной частью Синайского полуострова. Аэробус А321 выполнял рейс по маршруту Шарм-эш-Шейх (Египет)-Санкт-Петербург (Россия), но через 23 минуты после взлёта с экипажем была потеряна радиосвязь, а сам лайнер исчез с радаров.
