So far this has been Genshin's only use of dubstep / trap / electronica or whatever the genre counts as. And it works so well because it's so jarringly out of place!
@@IronGiant2790they did, theorically, electronic music with some Inazuma OSTs, they just used real japanese instruments So to rephrase better: this is the only time in-game they did electronic music with actual electronic instruments even if they are just whale sounds tweaked here and there

@@MiyuKawasaki same case as Inazuma, it's not real electronic music because the the instruments that are used but the way it's composed feels like it. In a sense, this is the first time ever where we can actually feel a complete shift into electronic, we hear literally remixed whale sounds, we sense a shift from the normal music we hear from Genshin in boss fights which is intense, aggressive, epic, ominous orchestra with some electronic elements that make it more aggressive, ominous, intense and epic. But what happens when you want to give a sense of extreme unknown danger, because even the whale theme at the start has that "giant being with kill intent, highly dangerous, you should run away" plus the ancient vibes we feel since it's only orchestra and a Latin chorus singing epicly. What happens is that you know the whale, you've seen it and you kind of know what's capable of since Tartaglia fought it, but with extreme unknown danger HoYo-MiX team chose the extreme unknown music to Genshin, that is also really ominous and aggressive, dubstep, a genre that was barely touched with some overworld fighting music and trailers but those were always made in Genshin-like music TL;DR for other people: instead of normal instruments we get remixed whale sounds, and a shift from the typical Genshin music, yet completely normal for HoYo-MiX style of "I already heard this in some way but it's completely new from what I expected"
Phase 1 theme is really underrated and doesn’t get talked about enough. Unfortunately in game you barely hear the choir part at all because it only plays during stun phase which often lasts only a few seconds before the narwhal dies.
Idk,I always somehow need a bit of time and it restarts...but I just take characters that might not be optimal Idk who to bring to actually damage it enough to kill it fast haha

When i first heard this during the fight, the beginning cello/strings reminded me a lot of dragon age inquisition, specifically the theme that plays during That scene in tresspasser. The climactic choir part reminded me a lot of stormwind city's soundtracks from WoW, though. Basically a nostalgia trip in one track for me lol
Are you sure this is genshin? Cause the first parts of the melody feel like something out of a horror or thriller and idk why. Anyways imma listen to this while i go to sleep
