The spurs are sitting so pretty. If the hawks rebuild, they get great lottery picks. If they don't rebuild, they still get decent lottery picks because the hawks are play in team. If the hawks want their picks back from the spurs it's going to cost the hawks to let go of trae for cheap. That dejounte trade for the spurs was brilliant they tanked for wemby, and now the hawks are in shambles.
@@j.h.g2001 I think Dejounte Murphy BI Zion would be better because they’re better playmakers and CJ and Herb could be deployed off the bench for a boost in scoring or defense, respectively
Murray and Jones should start. CJ gotta embrace that 6th man role. Even if Ingram goes Murphy has upside and is a great defender. Alvarado is a pest as well, is going to be hard for backcourts to score, man
If he can play as a 2nd or 3rd option then absolutely, i think he will be similar to lonzo in NO bc his defense can lead to fast breaks w zion (free cheese), its all about how he fits their halfcourt sets that will make or break this pairing
How..they have a lineup as Dejonte (guard the main ball handler) CJ on the corner man, Ingram, Zion and which ever centre out which hopefully they can get a floor spacer
Nah Brandon is likely gone. Him and Murray play the exact same style but I can’t say replacing Brandon with Murray as the second star is a good idea in the long run
Im very skeptical of the Pels. I actually think this trade helps the Hawks more. Going based off the starting lineup you mentioned-Dejounte is an ok defender, definitely not as good as he once was pre-injury. CJ, Ingram, and Zion can be defensive disasters more often than not. They do have Herb off the bench but that starting lineup would have some questions. They may be able to score on anybody but can they get some consistent stops? On the other hand, the Hawks now have recouped unprotected picks in their next drafts and have surrounded Trae with plenty of size and better defense-I believe Dyson ranked 3rd in POA defense. Also, based on stats, Hawks were better with Trae on the floor and Murray off, rather than the other way around. It’s obviously Trae’s team again since they cant afford to tank (thanks to the Spurs). I think the Hawks may surprise a ton of teams because they have better defense, size, and Trae has always led them to a top 5 offense. I predict that they at least make the play-in and possibly squeak into the playoffs to be 1st round losers again. However, they’ll be set up to make a big move next offseason.
Herb jones cannot go to the bench. I believe pelicans trade BI for a solid starting center You need the core of Dejounte, Herb, Trey and zion starting with cj being a great 6 man. This would be the best
Im not gonna be one of those people saying its bad they drafted Zaccharie, he could turn out great, but gah damn have the Hawks been putting up hall of fame numbers of ass ever since they won the first pick. Shouldve drafted Sarr regardless imo, many players have said before they didnt want a certain team and got drafted there anyways, Paolo for example, Griffin for a 2rp, dejounte trade. Man, everyone needs to call the Hawks to see if they can fleece them more.
Hawks not rebuilding they just doing what should've happened in the first place. When you have trae young less is more. We just need wings and shooters. The Murray trade never made sense to me I felt like Malcolm Brodgan was the guy to trade for. But I like the way hawks are headed also I don't think BI is a player that you look at and be like this is all we needed
imo they need to trade cj or at least bring him off the bench for this move to work. dejounte, herb, ingram, zion, and (insert center caude idk if they start yves right away)
We got Murray for LARRY NANCE JR., Dyson Daniels and first round picks.. the Pels didn’t have to include B.I 🤯 they got the PG that they needed and could still move Ingram or.. keep him :)
Pelicans got a gift from the Hawks! Murray was a better player than MIkal Bridges last year, and yet they only gave up half of what New York gave up to Brooklyn! I'm still shocked how little the Hawks got in return, especially considering the gave up a lot to get Murray from the Spurs! There was a trading market for Murray! I'm so excited for next season as a Pelicans fan!
i don't think the hawks are rebuilding fully. if that were the case i feel like they would've held on to a guy like AJ Griffin. Super young player who's already shown an ability to produce at the NBA level.
Hawks get Lakers 2025 pick in Essense betting that Davis and LeBron cant stay healthy again which would give them 2 lottery picks in 2025 one of the best drafts in a long time.
@@jaymorgan231I’m sure the lakers would’ve gave up max Christie & Christian wood & a 1st rd pick for DJ cause if Dyson Daniels is such a promising young talent then so is max the averages are almost close & max played 10 Less minutes a game than Dyson & im not even a lakers fan hawks just doing shit 😭😭
@@narrow3601 yeah but I thought that was because of possible playing team. Of course that was just a rumor though. If they knew they were gonna be selling, then they would’ve told him he will get all the playing time he wants

You don't tell a one man offensive engine to change his fucking playstyle. Trae has consistently made Atlanta a top 10 offense ever since he got there. By all accounts, Trae is Atlanta's offense.
We condensed assets into 1 talent, less cooks now. I know Z and BI are offence initiators but Dejonte will hopefully calm our 4th quarter offence and help us make the right play
