I take a look at the M200, which is steeped in tradition and pedigree. Enjoy! #pelikan #penaddict #fountainpen #review #hobbies #stationery #diamine #writing #germany #india #unboxing
Nice review. I have a M200 green marbled in EF nib. It’s a great pen. I couldn’t agree more with you on the fact that they write broader than most pens. But it is a beautiful pen and writes wonderfully every time. Btw, I use J. Herbin Vert De Gris in mine. It’s a Grayish Green ink and complements the pen’s color tones. Diamine Salamander is a great choice. 👍🏼
Thanks for commenting and glad that you liked the review. Vert de gris is a very nice ink, maybe I’ll do a review of a pen with it some time in the future. Pelikans despite being broader writers are just so satisfying. Cheers 🍻✌🏽
I got a M200 green marble at a reasonable price from Amazon, there is chatoyance under the light even more beautiful than the M205 Petrol marble in my opinion, the only complaint I have for this M200 green marble is that the ink window is difficult to use, it is almost opaque to be of any good. Instead I find the M200 Pastel green to have a clear ink window be more practical.
I suppose mine is about 2.5 years old, I use it a lot and it still looks new. Interesting how my pen tastes have changed, because I didn’t care for this pen when I first got it. Now I love it. You are right, it’s very bouncy and soft for a steel nib….and great for shading inks, or if you like slightly wet nibs. I do think it’s overpriced, though, and people should shop around. I didn’t and spent close to $170, that’s way too high.
I have the Pale Green as well, and I feel I over paid. I bought it in a store, and somehow it’s always more tempting and easy for me to justify a price when I have something right in my hand….I’m more cautious when buying online. I like the pen, it’s very pretty, but you can find the marble green or brown for around $100.
