I shot this video about 20 days after Chinese New Year. Sorry I couldn't upload sooner 😕😭. Editing takes a really long time, so real-life ends up moving faster... Anyways, I think there's still a lot of good information if you're planning to visit Penang and Malaysia, plus, this Buddhist temple fully lit is among the most beautiful places I've seen in my life 😍😍
I'm so glad that RU-vid recommended this video to me! As a temple enthusiast, Kek Lok Si is my favourite Buddhist temple. This was a really stunning and well-put vlog and watching the lights get turned on was amazing. Thank you Renata!
@@RenataPereiraTV Hi Renata! If you do visit Malaysia again in the future, you should visit some amazing cave temples in Ipoh. More specifically, limestone caves....there are a lot. Perak Cave is the most famous one amongst them!
Very huge and impressive. It's great to see different religion and ethnicity live side by side in peace and in harmony. That is what this world need everywhere.
WOW this video was so beautifully shot!! You've definitely made me want to visit this temple, it looks gorgeous! 😻 Also I love how goofy you and Gordon are together, it's so adorable!! Haha 😸
Thanks Renata for bringing it to RU-vid. Seriously, I’m a Malaysian who never been to this place at night.😂 but I guess i can be forgiven because I’m living in the south part. So yeah... thanks for shooting and open my mind haha.. the shooting and visual effect is so awesome!!
This is beautiful! I went to Penang earlier this month and I want TO GO BACK! I am also still editing my video for it.. Yes life goes faster😂 Thanks for all the inspiration ❤️ Love from SINGAPORE 🇸🇬 😊
Hiya. How do you not have 200k subscribers? Your vlogs are so full of imagery and so professional and yet there are so-called travel vloggers that basically only show plates of food with 4 times the number of subs you have. Unbelievable! All the best to you.
This temple seems to be a must visit in Malaysia! So glad I found this beautiful video, because I hope to go to Malaysia very soon when all restrictions are lifted.
Wow...the temple is very nice... during the day and at night. I remember back in the 80's (the last time I was in Penang) the temple wasn't as huge and magnificent as it is today.
I think this is the video which showed us your capacity of filming and editing.. great shots capture in the video... The cooling and soothing ambience of the temple also could be the reason whey this video was so so soothing... Awesome work Renata and Gordon...
I have been watching a few videos of your travelling series and I love how you narrate your vlogs ❤️ and I live for you and Gordon small bickerings hahahhaha
Thank you Renata for posting this interesting video. I'm planning to visit Penang soon n it will be my very first visit there. Your video is very helpful as always. Much love from Indonesia💖🌹
Selamat pagi Nur Hidayah, kalau kamu plan your trip to Penang soon, maybe my Top 10 Penang video may help you out. Good luck with your planning and have a great trip soon!
Another well put together vlog Renata, I'm looking forward to visiting Kek Lok Si in the evening now that I've watched your video😂 ,and as usual, Gordon is such a funny guy!
Chinese New Year had just passed so we were after the crowd. Made it pleasurable for us so we don't have to fight for filming spot. YEs lots of lamps a true unique scene. Thanks for watching
there is a dam on top of Kek Lok Si temple, very beautiful place, u can walk one round inside the dam, dam close around 7pm, from there you can see entire georgetown, it is a place where all penang ppl carry out their excercise, there are few route to there, the esier is using the same road that take you to kek lok si temple, just follow the road, u can either walk or take car up there
Too bad you did not visit the top part of the temple since it offers splendid views too. The lift up will cost you some money (especially if you buy a 2-way ticket) & I would recommend a short walk/climb if you are able to. You also missed a lower part of the temple where there is a (fairly) new tortoise pond, but no real temples. Hence the whole temple complex can & should be explored by foot for those that are able to. Really hoped you had an amazing experience in Penang. Do come back in the future & thanks for putting up these vlogs.
😭 when i went to Malaysia to attend my first MUN last aug 25-28 2019 90% of my stipend plus my reserve all went to grab but i enjoyed my trip still very interesting country 😁 New subscriber here🇵🇭
Renata: The city of Penang, Malaysia is just a remarkable city with many great Statues, Monuments & Temples. I really LOVE watching this great Southeast Asian city @ home in 2022!
Hello, Renata. My wife and I are a few weeks away from our trip to Asia for the first time. Going to Singapore 4 nights, Kuala Lumpur - 3, Bangkok 3 and Phuket - 4. Thank you so much for your videos and all the info, Greg
I went Keh Lok si during Chinese New year festival this year- so beautiful and my soul felt really peace while traveling there! George town is simply amazing- will be waiting for your video about Penang Hill♥️

thank you! are you portuguese ('pereira')? great video. I'm considering a stopover in malaysia but didn't want to spend muhc time in kuala lumpur. since i'm very interested in buddhism, this looks like a good option.
You should try visiting kechara forest retreat if you haven't! They are the biggest tibetan temple in malaysia and there also a organisation of tsem rinpoche!
Ciao Renata!
If you Respond write in english because i cant translate comments in portuges please.
Sultan97400 Thank you sooo much! I really appreciate your comments in Portuguese, that’s so kind and so thoughtful ❤️😍. Yes, I’m trying to find a way to start editing 2 videos per week, trying to get Gordon to learn and help in the editing 😂😂. All the best!
If u can visit the city of Malacca, its quite similar to Penang. Malacca is UNESCO World heritage site same goes to Penang. Another 2 city I would like to suggest to you is in Indonesia. It's Bali and jogjakarta. Amazing city don't miss out. Enjoy your holiday

Like everything else, a little animism has gotten mixed in. I can’t say this enough: Buddhism is not some sort of magical wishing religion. In fact, the practice stems from desire, and desire is the root cause of suffering. On top of that, they are charging admission for certain areas of the temple; in a manner of speaking, this is sort of like charging for the dharma - which is forbidden to be taught at a cost.
What is the name of the song that plays at the beginning of the video ... “didn’t take long , I think I might fall out now , na na na , I fall out now”
Hi Renata. Im a penangite and ur newly sub haha. The highest spot u've missed is the lady god temple and it is the most important part of the whole kek lok si temple. U should've took the cable car from the pagoda up there. Its open at night too. By the way nice vid and im glad u like penang
Alex Leong 😭😭😭😭 Really? We asked around and they told us the only way to get there was walking... And as we were already in the pagoda we decided using the time to do the time-lapse video instead 😕😕. But I guess that day it might have been closed, as it was not lit like everywhere else...
@@RenataPereiraTV dear, you need to take an inclined lift to go to the top! It's quite difficult walking there. But you're so lucky to enjoy the evening lights- isn't it magical like heaven?♥️
@@RenataPereiraTV i'm also not sure, i live in Singapore and create several Travel Video, so i thought maybe i go there someday and shoot. That looks so beautiful
Renata Pereira yeah been doing yt for more than 2 years and im still searching. Please do a meet up if you are coming to singapore. Maybe i can learn one or two things from you
