The aesthetics of this cello ocnerto is highly personal in the reoromany=tic style which Penderecki adopted sevral decades fro mow, following experimental beginnings. I find an incantatory tone in that music. Very beautiful rendition directed by Antoni Wit with Tatjana Vassiljeva at the cello.

I absolutely love Penderecki's Cello Concerto! It's so shocking to not see this guy being as big as he really should be. Thank you so much for the upload!

He is considered one of the greatest composers of the second half of the 20th century. His music is used in The Shining soundtrack. He is the one of the composers who shifted the classical music world to Avant Garde with other people such as John Cage, Charles Ives etc.

I am absolutely captivated by his music. Music that stirs your darkest thoughts and feelings, the pure emotion that runs through this music is truly breathtaking. Schnittke brought me here to start this journey, I look forward to discovering more Penderecki. The darker the better!

Yes....it's true....31:18 is like the bright sudden opening of a blazing aperture in some supernova black hole....too short....I wish he'd enlarged that idea....like the last 5 minutes of Bruckner's 4th. Greetings from México!
