For those who are still wondering... The song and music video is a reference to the mass suicide done by the religious cult called Heaven's Gate. The poisoned water, the souls taken by the UFO, even the armbands they were wearing says "Away Team", referencing the words "Heaven's Gate Away Team" on the actual armbands worn by the cult members. Edit: I see we've all arrived here again after Pendulum releases new music just a few days ago, after all these years. We are together in our trip across memory lane 😊😊😊
I know you commented 5 years ago but I find it extremely coincidental that I was googling heavens gate after watching an episode of 50 amazing facts by mathew santoro not 2 days ago and now I have been shown the actual meaning of my favourite music video from my youth..........WHAT IN THE ACTUAL F**K
I used to really love this song as a kid, I remembered it the other day and searches for it to have a listen again. I had no idea it was in reference to Heaven’s Gate or what that was so I’ve learned something new. Thanks so much for leaving your comment this is really interesting.
When i first heard this i thought this was just a catchy song but now i know what the video means and this video manages to show how terrifying cults really are. The video does a perfect job replicating and showing that.
Lyrics: Something's tearing me down and down And I can't help but feel it's coming from you She's a gunshot bride as the trigger cries I just wonder what we've gotten ourselves into In a trail of fire I know we will be free again In the end we will be one In a trail of fire I'll burn before you bury me Set your sights for the sun Mind is willing, soul remains This woman cannot be saved From the draw into the fire Mind is willing, soul remains This woman cannot be saved From the draw into the fire Anything to bring it on home Bring it on home Bring it on home Bring it on home Much to weak to jump yourself Heal the wounds or crack the shell Lift yourself from once below Much to weak to jump yourself Heal the wounds or crack the shell Lift yourself from once below Praise the anger bring it on home Bring it on home Bring it on home Bring it on home In a trail of fire I know we will be free again In the end we will be one In a trail of fire I'll burn before you bury me Set your sights for the sun Bring it on home
Used to listen to the songs from this album literally every second of the day while on holidays in the Canarie Islands (this was the one which kicked off my love for them!). I remember walking down the beach with this in my ears, sun on my face, awhh it was so fucking amazing... Now when I listen back to these songs I just get chills down my spine as all these memories and feelings come flooding back.. Thank you Pendulum, you'll forever be special to me
The end of this video really makes you wonder. The swirling mist, the scornful ugly humans, the smoggy dystopian cityscape, it's almost like the cult was right, at least to an extent. The Heavens Gate members believed that only those willing to completely shed their attachment to the physical world would be allowed to ascend into a higher state of being, while the rest of us would be left to live in a doomed spiritually corrupt world.
+Jonathan Smith Because it was uploaded before YT implemented their shitty compression algorithms that they still use now. In reality on any other decent platform 144p really isn't anywhere near as bad looking as it does on on the 'new' YT format.
I remember being in junior high and hearing this while flipping through TV stations when it first came out.... fell in absolute love and have been ever since.
@@sinista6536 Because when there's nothing better, it looks like it's amazing. Technology at that time wasn't so progressive at it is now. Being able to see a video was already an amazing thing. Seeing pictures move fast enough to see a video sequence; whereas now it's regular. And anything that's not over 1080p (basically at a high definition) is terrible.
I remember have listened to this while playing MotorStorm: Arctic Edge on my PSP nine years ago, unfortunately, I only remembered the rhythm of the song & in those years there were no apps such as shazam or whatever to search for a specific song, so I really felt sad about it for almost 10 years for not knowing what was the name of this song. Thank goodness that nowadays there are so many tools that make our lives better.
My man !!!! That was the celldweller remix (he too, is an amazing artist/sound designer) !! That is exactly the way I came across pendulum !! Are you me from a time machine?
This sounds like how somebody 20 years ago would see their own memory of a tragic or traumatizing event. Very quick, with only the bare concept, a few remarkable words still left stained in the mind with its ambience conjoining it. But since the memory is so embedded to one’s molded taste, it comes off passive, less frightening, and desensetized like the nuance tones of this music. Pendulum did a very good job with this playlist.
Why DO I ALWAYS FIND THE BEST SONGS 100 YEARS LATER~!!?? BRUH I CANT BELIEVE THIS SONG WAS RELEASED 12 YEARS AGO!! LMAOO I just found this randomly on Spotify and I been listening to it non stop all March 2020 and Now I just look it up here and it blew my mind LOLOL
Dude it happens to me too, i find good song's like this from years ago to late, but sincerely I don't feel bad for that be cause It is never too late to hear old masterpieces. PS: I have stuck this song on some place of my mind since 2011 be cause I remember hear it in a PSP race videogame lol.
@@kimmich3 motorstorm arctic edge buddy, same here found pendulum cuz of motorstorm arctic edge, my all time fav game, even discovered Prodigy from them.
sounds pretty good, glad they did something different instead of 10 more drum and bass songs... this will probably see them blow up into the mainstream for sure
If anyone is from the UK here that watches the soap, Coronation Street should recognise the man in this video, he plays 'Rob Donovan' In Corrie - Just thought it would be cool to know, as I myself watch this TV show :)
For me it's one of the best song + clip ever ! It give me chills ! Too bad it's only 144p... But maybe one day they'll upload a better version, at least 360p ?..
You can't tell me there isn't a higher resolution video of Propane Nightmares. 144p I didn't even know the name for this resolution and I work with this. Dear Pendulum would you please give us a HD Propane Nightmares Video. Are you trolling us? Please guys
This song helped me when on public transport, to and from a dodgy unhealthy relationship. It helped me make my mind up, to leave her and her kid. Happier for it. Thanks.
Why do I feel like these nostalgic videos I come back to has more views back when I watched them? I saw this video over 10 years ago and I feel like it had millions then.
