Yeah same! Another Planet is a dope song, underrated af! Distress Signal is another awesome futuristic sounding Pendulum song that doesn't get enough love!
Pendulum blew the d&b scene apart with those early tunes: Vault, Back 2 You, Trail Of Sevens, Spiral, Minds Eye, Tonite remix, No One Knows, Toxic Shock, etc
This one song blew the entire D&B scene away instantly. Doc Scott is a genius to sign them. 31 Records forever. Life changing shit. I heard that almost every DJ played this at WMC that first year. Biggup Elhornet, Pendulum!
Andy C said that this was the one track that he’d wished he’d been able to put out on Ram (especially considering what a game-changer it was) , because he didn’t get a copy of the track when it was making the rounds as a dub until it was too late, and by then they’d already signed to 31 Records.
Still their best work to this day.. and in my top 5 jungalistic bangers!! Gonna go double drop it with mode 1 by iq collective for face melting bass!!!🤒
Bought this on vinyl when it got released all the years back and it still sounds as amazing as it did. They arrived on the scene with this and it was mind blowing. Pretty much is the only Pend tune I ever truly rated. (Not to knock their success, just my taste and the direction they took.)
@@qillofficial "had" as in past tense? Don't tell me you got rid of them all? Drum & bass is ideal on vinyl: the analog signal seems to accentuate the typical individual elements of DnB, making them sound more upfront, more in-yer-face, than on CD. Total Science is a good example: i had a bunch on CD and always found their tunes a bit dull, but recently bagged some of the same tracks on vinyl and it's powerful stuff. Thanks to discogs got a right decent collection now: usual suspects like Ram Trilogy, J Majik, Ed/Opt , Decoder, Matrix, Current Value etc, but also discovered some previously unknown producers with absolute gems: examples: Bob Humid - Shiny Black Bug & Naruhisa Matsuoka - Tong Poo to name just two. Gonna have to upload a session. Can't mix for toffee, like haha
@@dhollsynthmusic In storage at least for now, havn't got needles at moment. No doubt vinyl seems louder and better, nice selection you got there. The great thing about digital though is it's mobility and space required. My digital collection might take up a warehouse if it was vinyl :)
@@qillofficial understandable, mate. tho' i've gone the opposite direction: had countless mp3's/wav's on hard drives, then discovered an interesting audio-advantage of CD's over WAV is that when the signal is going through a cd player's outputs it creates a subtle but noticable more fluid sound which i couldn't replicate with WAV's going out of external audio cards. More recently realised vinyl sounds fat as fook and now got half-a-warehouse of wax discs taking up space in my flat...yikes. extremely fun, tho'...i hope your collection gets a second life at some point!
Firstly Greg, you're a fucking saint. Glad to see someone uploading quality old/rare Pendulum tracks. Secondly, where did you get the background image from? I like it 😎 Thirdly, keep it up!
im going to my friends studio later and he does radio on a friday night. i put this in my box last night ready for later. hasnt even aged since release
Wasn't the vinyl version ripped from an mp3 doc Scott had without pendulum even knowing which is why there's 2 minutes of synth at the end? Also how are you getting and uploading these tracks?
> mp3 doc Scott had intriguing. actually not sure myself, im going to ask el hornet about that one > how are you getting recovering old sources, leaks, ripping cds and vinyls (both released and unreleased), restoring from set rips or recreating from scratch, receiving from el hornet, the stuff on here is sourced in many ways
Can't really hear much of a difference to be quite honest... In fact, it sounds like the audio keeps dropping and then rising again sometimes... Kind of weird.
instead of that how about you educate me on what you're trying to achieve by posting this comment. do you just lack context or you actually think that you understand this better?
Fuck man I never realised how damn trippy and euphoric those pads are at 3:18. Seriously listen to them closely when they pitch up. So much subtle madness going on in there. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's best to not advertise your interest in music on RU-vid with "HQ, HD & Lossless", when your content gets uploaded to RU-vid and it becomes degraded by compression to save server space. Unless you found a way? Love your Pendulum/Knife Party findings though. :)
'lossless' advertises the dnba CD flac link found in the description. though it does make a bit of a difference that when i upload the audio on youtube has only one layer of transcoding (youtube opus filter) rather than two if i had uploaded an mp3. not that it makes it lossless obviously but it does make it the best q on youtube rn. but yeah the tag is for the DL. on the other hand whoever advertises with HQ or HD is retarded hahahah
