I'll be damned if I don't turn the volume up @1:27 for that initial drop, every time...and hands up for the second one like I'm on a damn rollercoaster.
I mean to each their own, but i think the instrumental in Culture Shock- City Lights is way better than this. This one has amazing vocals to carry it though.
No words can really express how long I've waited to hear this since the teasers. Oh my god, this is beautiful and euphoric! I'll be serious, original is original. I highly prefer the original over this remix, but man it does a really good job of keeping me wanting more!
I mean I like it.... but it doesn't compare to the original, especially when the striking melody has been replaced with two sounds looping one after another..
TheJege12 that melody is my favourite part about the original track. It's such a standout feature and is instantly recognisable. This remix is just ehhhh
I want Pendulum to get back to stuff like Hold Your Colour album, a similar masterpiece of an album needs a comeback. I'm not saying current DnB is bad but it's not as awesome as DnB from 2000s.
Most of everyone in this comment section doesn't know that both Culture Shock - City Lights and Pendulum - Watercolour (Matrix and Futurebound remix) sampled from a song Two Months Off by Underworld.
When Dimension dropped this in a set, I really thought it was a mashup of 'City Lights'. Disappointed Matrix & Futurebound didn't come up with something more original.
and you think he makes up his decision of wanting another reworks album on the fact that many pendulum fans are not free minded enoughto listen to other genres than dnb or sounds that do not sound similiar? god that sentence is ugly to read :D
It's really good. But then so is the original. And then City Lights is really good too. As are Matrix and Futurebound. It doesn't ruin the original; both are great tunes in their own right.
well its both at the same time. City Lights is also a good track, it's just that Watercolour is such a great classic and it doesn't deserve a remix which sounds like another track. It also loses the power of the original melody. I think that Watercolour shouldn't have been remixed, I would still play the original
After having heard Culture Shock's City Lights and Underworld's Two Months Off, we can objectively qualify this as a purely derivative pastiche with the worst vocals of all three versions
