All starts with penei. Look at Jamaal Williams without Sewell. Dudes a one man run/pass game. I wouldnt feel comfortable with him commuting to the stadium. Needs something walking distance. And he should be traveling to road games by train, that way if the plane crashes the team can still rebuild around sewell.

I'll admit, I wanted Parsons and I would still be happy with him as he's been everything I expected and more. That said, in hindsight, this was clearly the better pick.

His ability to pull quickly to the other side of the field and not miss the block. Many guys pull than whiff on the block, not Mr sewell

Penei is a LT playing RT. He’s just that good. Before his first game, Decker got hurt so the Lions moved Sewell over to LT with no practice. First game was against Nick Bosa. He shut Bosa down at 20 years old.

@@TheTDTV he graduated hs a year early, played 1 year @ Oregon and won best lineman in the country, he opted out next season due to covid and focused on the draft. I'm so happy the heart and soul of our team is an absolute phenomenon of a NFL tackle, great video!

Pretty sure Jamal is questioning his decision to put money above playing for Lions still. Lions gave him everything possible for success while NO has shown no RB does it alone. I like Jamal, wish he had stayed, but he chased $$$. No fault, just is.

You right but I was just trying to highlight Penei has fought his way to the top not like Trent Williams has fallen off because of some major injury. I think its fair to assume Williams at 35 will never play another season at 100% though. Penei will likely continue to improve and be an all time great similar to Williams(🐐) in many ways! Hope you enjoyed the video man!!

And at 35 years old, Trent still had Jaguars safety #31 literally turn around and run away from him while lead blocking for CMC this season. Until Sewell puts that kind of fear into a defense, he'll still be #2 to Trent.

Most 3rd year players aren’t exactly looking to dip on the team that drafted them so early in their career 2) he’s having great success playing alongside a couple other stellar O-linemen (Ragnow & Decker) so why mess with good chemistry? 3) I’m not sure how big of an NFL fan you are because this feels kinda redundant to say but umm there’s barely a handful of teams that are currently better than the lions. They’re not only fairly young but they’re also set up to contend for a SB for a nice long stretch. I admit, the lions have been the worst franchise in all of sports for decades so I’m assuming you’re going by that when you ask why he doesn’t wanna play for a ‘better team’. He’s literally one of the best teams in the league. Plus he just got a fat contract extension, he’s a team captain at only 23, he’s an all-pro and is considered AT LEAST in the top 3 of all tackles in the league. Idk man, from my perspective, it seems like he’s living his best life right where he is. Either way, that’s your opinion and that’s all good with me. Just wanted to give some food for thought is all

That’s a delusional statement, watch the film for yourself. Hutch was double and triple teamed WAYYYY more than bosa. And Bosas sack on penei came off a stunt play where he had to block both people because the guard was double teaming with the center

I understand why you feel that way man but truthfully the game has changed in past couple years. TJ Watt, Micah Parsons and Nick Bosa all played far more snaps on the RT side this season for example.. hope you at least enjoyed the video dude!

@@hermar3656 Not taking anything away from Sewell but THEY DONT PLAY THE SAME POSITION. Two different responsibilities. LTs are the highest paid OL for a REASON. Sewell is NEVER on an island against the best pass rushers in the league every down like TW is...That's why TW is the 2023 AL-PRO LT and Sewell is not - he's the RT All-Pro.

@@spoonbred This just in... I'm not part of the coaching staff lol. Decker is a Pro Bowl caliber LT. To have a rookie come in and displace could be seen as a sign of disrespect. Also, and more likely, is that Sewell's talent is such that there is a net gain by asking him to switch positions rather than Decker. Sewell has already shown the ability to move BACK OVER to LT in a pinch with NO DROP OFF when Decker was hurt. To believe Sewell would be worse at LT is just FOOLISH bro. Trent is awesome and a HOF, it's just at this point in time Sewell has taken that 👑!
