Penguins Run For Their Lives from Tsunami Wave From Calving Glacier

A glacier in Antarctica calves, creating a tsunami wave that spreads to shore, where a colony of Gentoo penguin live. Many of them run (hop) for their lives as the waves begin to crash against the shoreline.

They are classed as tsunami waves..yes..not very big, but still a tsunami, which by definition is caused when a volume of water is displaced by something else..eg rocks, ice, metoers or landslips etc due to earthquakes. 'Normal' waves are caused by winds and tidal effects.

Not a tsunami at all. But can we talk about penguins for a second ? They are some of the most screwed up looking little dudes out there lol. Bless their hearts ! They’re so disadvantaged when it comes To those feet and wings lol. Thank God They can swim !
