Why was Crosby and malkin and matheson and rust not playing

Crosby had wrist surgery the previous month and was not yet cleared to play. Rust, Matheson, and Malkin were also out with injuries. BTW, Rust's injury occurred in the road game against the Panthers just two days prior.
