I only found out about Penicuik House this year. It is definitely worth a visit. The grounds are lovely to explore. I'm glad that you enjoyed the video.
I lived in Penicuik for 14 yrs. If you research where you intend visiting Clare, you'd find a mine of information. The Tower was once known as Terregles, but now is The Knightslaw Tower. It was built around 1754 from the old stones of the house prior to the present one being built. The Clarke family redeveloped the stables to live in after the fire, and still reside there. A long time ago the family called "Pennycook lived there and Penicuik took it's name from them!
Great views , alongside by car , walking up / down to the tower , forest around and a surprise in and out the house : super ! How many histories occurred in this place , I imagine .. the fountain and another older structures. Thank you for sharing this, loved the video.
