Penn Rival 6000 LongCast Blue Reel Review 

I would have gotten the 8000 as well but since I have the Okuma Surf 8K, i just couldn't justify the purchase. Really cracking reel, though. 👍

Hi, mine actually came with a sparespool but without the case. Here in the UK, the case is bought separately.

Hi, I haven't fished the area you have mentioned before. But this should be a good option for pier fishing. Just be mindful of how much space you have behind you. If it's a bit tight, then you might want to go for a shorter rod (10 feet) as you don't really need to get greater distance if fishing from a pier. Hope this helps. 👍

Thanks! Which exact part of the spool do you need the diameter for? Reason I am asking is because it is a tapered spool so diameter varies. I currently have my spools loaded with line at the moment so I'll be able to check for you next time I respool with line.

Thanks, Paul! I was actually looking at both reels that you have mentioned before purchasing this. (Is it too obvious from all the fishing gears I have reviewed so far that I love Akios!?) However, I needed a smaller reel to accommodate a lighter setup for lure fishing but can also handle surf fishing setup. Otherwise, all great reels.👍

I have 2 of the fury reels they are terrible 1 bail arm broke of and the line lay is shocking

Hi Ray! Berkley Prospec Saltwater Monofilament. The last cast is the only one with braid. You can check the unboxing video that I did for this reel as I have included there when I have lined this reel with the Berkley Prospec.

@@mrlittlemouse1 I haven't been able to measure it on the field, but I was getting 100m to 130m of 'line out' with bait on an easy off the ground cast when I had it spooled with multicolor braid (10m per color). So I would say around 50m, realistically speaking.
