Penn State Pride - Gladiator Style 

i love this one -it was the 1st video i saw played before a game when i was a freshman - gives me chills every time!

Wow...I love watching this over and over during football season. I love it at the opening of games even though each year it changes just a little, but it still holds tradition.

This video got me through my last semester in college....I played it every morning and it pumped me up.

I remember they made this video in 2003 when we sucked and it had all those Larry Johnson clips from 2002 to remind us how good we used to be.

This video was made in my last year at Penn State. I remember the first time my roommates and I saw it. We all had chills and sat there speechless for a good 30 seconds. WE ARE PENN STATE!!!!!

Very true, Zach Mills singlehandedly pulled us out of the hole that Matt Senaca got us into and beat the Buckeyes for Tressel's first year in 2001. But then he got hurt at the Virginia game, and he actually got worse every year because nobody (including Mills himself) wanted to admit how much damage the arm injury really had done.

I'm a Wisconsin fan, but this is a raw video, and reasons like this are why I'll always respect Penn State.

The chills I get at the beginning! I remember being at the game and this video would come on the jumbo tron and shake the stadium! God I love Penn State football! Can't wait to return to Beaver Stadium today!

MVillani1985...yes you are right... JoePa has is a good sportsman to ride up the scoring board...he's never about the points, its always about how his team performs. I forget but they did almost score 70 on a game back in 2005 and JoePa just stopped to even score around 60ish points. Good Sportsmanship right there, Lot of respect.

That Illinois game I thought they were going to finish 112-3, since Morelli was scoring on Illinois just as strong as Robinson was when the second stringers came in in the middle of the 2nd quarter and we led 56-3 at halftime. The only other PSU score was a kickoff return, the rest of the time we just took a knee for the second half and very literally allowed a really late Illini score to make the homecoming less embarrassing. Zook personally thanked Paterno for not letting it get out of hand.

I would love to see them update this video with some clips from 2005 and 2006. Most of it is 2002 era with LJ.

After looking at some of Penn State's starters, I predict at least a 2nd place Big 10 finish. The Oregon State, Ohio State, and Wisconsin games will all be close and probably really fun to watch. The Iowa game should be interesting too. And you ever know, USC might get pounded in the Rose Bowl like they did early in the 1994 season by Penn State. Can't wait to see how the 2008 season turns out. I just hope more than anything that we beat Michigan, and I mean beat them bad.

They do. But you can't always tell from initial impressions. It's a shame that all those players got into trouble last year, our defense played like they weren't even on the field, but waiting for the bus, when we played against Michigan State. If the football players can stay out of trouble 2008 should be a great year.

No, by great I mean 12-0 or 11-1. There's no way we end up in a non-BCS bowl again. The only teams that might give us trouble are Oregon State, Ohio State, and Wisconsin, the others I wouldn't worry about (especially a Michigan where the cupboards are bare). That is pretty rough, but remember, PSU is a team that reloads, not rebuilds, the defense.

I think we could have hung at least 50 on Wisky in 2007 or 80 on Temple, but I think I remember our fourth string quarterback throwing a couple passes in the waning seconds of the Temple game. Another one is back in 1994, Penn State beat Ohio State 63-14, but it could have been way uglier, since PSU led 56-0 at one point (I think halftime or early in the 3rd quarter).

I think our defense will be fine, since we've never had a year with a weak defense. It'll hurt losing Lee, but that just means we'll be a little like the 1994 team, relying on the offense more than expected.

Normally I'd agree that JoePa wouldn't put up 70+ points, but we're talking about a I-AA team that Youngstown State would beat up on for practice. I may be a little optimistic about Indiana, but they probably won't be as good as they were in 2007. The reason PSU never scores 70 is not because they can't, it's because JoePa is too much of a sportsman. Ohio State I know will be close, but I do feel a little optimistic. There's no way we're getting humiliated again, even if we do lose.

Yea exactly, so I don't know whats this talk about Penn State not having the potential or the ability to score 70+ points when in fact we already proven it...it was just that Paterno's a modest man and dont need to shut out a team completely and degrade em even more...I dont exactly remember every game, and i have watched each one since 2005, but really I would remember the big/key games especially the high scoring ones and we def. had games where we "could've" scored 70+ points.

Notre Dame better pray that they don't get embarrassed 155 days from now. Because Beaver Stadium will be louder than the Ohio State game a year and a half ago, guaranteed. Penn State is fortunate to have THE best fans in the country.

You don't watch much college football if you think like that. Michigan was the clear winner that year and didn't need a fluke leg kick to beat a team like Penn State. Whatever keeps you going though, it must be tough losing to the same team for a decade.

The old rivalry will be renewed with Syracuse losing to Penn State by a score of 42-14. It'll be 35-7 at the end of the 3rd quarter, when JoePa will pull the starters, feeling kind of sorry for you. I know it's apples and oranges, but Oregon completely torched Michigan, who beat us. And Oregon State beat Oregon. I know in 2008 they'll be different teams, and Oregon State isn't going to just steamroll us, but I think they'll either pull the upset or give us major fits. The teams I'm really worried about are Illinois and Wisconsin. If we can get past Oregon State, we'll go 10-2 or better. Worst we can do is 9-3.

Not nescessarily, most great offensive players turned out good, only a few like Austin Scott were real busts. Although I do agree we'll have trouble beating Iowa (I think we win 25-21), Wisconsin (we win 23-21), and Oregon State (we win 35-24). I think we hand the Illini their only loss beating them 35-29 and beat Ohio State at the last minute to win 31-27 I predict. We'll handily beat Michigan since this isn't being played in Ann Arbor and their cupboards will be bare. At very worst we go 10-3.

You're right, it should have never happened, but he WAS kicked off the team. Schools like LSU or Florida would pull for their players to stay on the team. I'm sick of the football players getting into trouble, too, but wouldn't you agree that it would be worse if no disciplinary action whatsoever was taken?
