I love how so many of these magicians have shaking hands during the trick. They're wobbling around, they're clearly nervous. But the moment they need to manipulate the cards at all? Smooth, practiced precision, the kind you only get through true muscle memory.
Penn is such a grateful host. Even when he’s not fooled at all, he is gracious enough to complement his guests as much as possible. He doesn’t demean them, like Simon.
Best thing about FU, IMO. Also, the magicians are screened, and it's the talented ones that get to go up there and perform, whereas XFactor etc, at least in the early stages, it's anybody's game, and that leaves more room for ridicule both from the judges and audiences alike
I LOVE this routine. I remember seeing it in Genii, and then getting your book. I love performing it; it blows people's minds. I love the truly deceptive method, too; that's one of the reasons I was drawn to the effect in the first place. I'm delighted you got to perform this on Fool Us - congratulations.
@@scottkahn3480 i myself am diagnosed with essential tremor and it very very hardly worsens when i get nervous and try to stay still. I couldnt sit straight on such a big show, it would be a nightmare
Thank you so much for your reply. I'm a Doc myself, and it was fascinating to watch you master the Art of Magic alongside the Science of Medicine. Please do keep it up, and continue to amaze us@@scottkahn3480
My favorite part about this show is that even the tricks that "fail" are still wonderfully performed tricks, and Penn, Teller, and all the guests are always such great sports about it. The show really is just a showcase of magic talent with a dash of competition thrown in. Awesome trick! I think have a basic idea of what you did, but no idea how you pulled it off!
Obviously the bullet has no real role to play in the trick, other then to bring a lot of joy to Penn and Teller, which it did, as for the trick, I couldn’t see through it.
Happy to say that this is one of the times that be figured out a trick, but that was such a great idea to use the clear cards! Really great performance and such an amazing piece of P&T history with the bullet! Fantastic performance!
I'm over here just learning about changing a card from blue to red back and thinking it was boring. Then RU-vid serves me up something that looks like I got to get good to do stuff that cool.
Great performance! Let me second what Alyson said as well and thank you and all of your brothers and sisters for all that they've had to endure these past few years. My parents were both RNs in their earlier years and they've both shared some pretty heartbreaking stories along the way so my heart goes out to all of you having to face this mess day after day. Stay safe!
@@scottkahn3480 I'd like to know if the cvd deniers and conspiracy nuts still causing mayhem for you on a daily basis, or have they all crawled back under their rocks?
I won't spoil it but I've been doing this exact illusion for a long time other than the signature part I always wanted to try with clear cards and it looks just beautiful
The only thing I can think of is that you may have created a moment to do something fishy with the whole "oh sorry, here's a pen..." moment, but even then I wouldn't have a clue what you did, how you did it. Awesome trick.
I dont want to give it away, but I saw it on the first watch. It's performed very well. All ill say is watch it again but pay close attention to his actions rather than words.
Very cleanly and smoothly done trick, Dr Kahn, and I strongly applaud anyone who dares to do a close-up magic trick right in front of P&T (I would have been shaking hands or voice from nerves alone). I've learned from watching them that anytime a magician retouches a deck of cards, you should almost always be suspicious of them. Still, very well done!
I have see so many trick and have no clue how this was done. Right until placing the selected card in the box you can see its the selected card. With his last move Scott could have attached the King face to the card, but how his King changes to the 6 of diamonds I have no clue at all. Great performance, really well done :)
@@twatmunro That's the system you got in place in the USA. Most western countries have free healthcare (at point of treatment), and even the amount of taxes we pay is far, far less than you guys fork out in insurance cover at at the point of treatment fees
I notice the second card was controlled by Scott. But even then, that must me near impossible to control Penn's card with clear cards. You'd notice the switch any time. So clever
I only made it to 0:31 and had to pause it because I saw the view from the Boylan Bridge for just a few moments and instantly recognized one of my favorite places to watch the rails. 😀
during the performance i felt it to be abit slow and long winded but after a while i got used to the pace and come to like it it made it not just different but also special and the moment you actualy figured out what the trick was to be .... man .. that was a beautiful piece of performance and looking back at all the slow pacing at the beginning ... i now feel thats just perfect the way it is... .. i dont have a clue how it was done at this point and i kinda hope ( i paused the video) pen wont give too much clues so it remains secret to me .. id like to remember it the way i feel right now atbout it :) just beautiful well done thanks for this performance
Pretty sure I know what happened here. But I can't see it happening. Either this was very smooth to the point I can't see it, or I'm just wrong and stupid
I wonder ( if you have children) if your son or daughter in future is doing a trick with P and T and they pull out a plastic card and a bullet and say my dad got penn to sign this back in 2022 and my Gfather retrieved this bullet !from back in the day
This one is Easy. He is a doctor. He is used to transplants organs. He does this with humans, so it's just easier on cards. The transparent cards, gave him away as it rhymes with transplant.
Actually it can. The purpose of the transparent card is just to make it look impossible, but no it's possible because they are not really transparent if you get what I mean.
It was not a problem. I just put it in my checked baggage. But I actually left a note for the TSA with the bullet... just in case they decided to inspect my bag.
It wouldn't be fair to the magicians if they did. The moment remains magical for the audience (in person and online) when Penn and Teller don't clearly give away how the trick was done. No one would want to perform on the show if they knew that their best tricks would be given away to the general public.
@@itsafunnyoldworld it only took me a few videos to understand his code. It’s extremely easy to understand lol. Also what did he say during the sneezes. I couldn’t understand what he said
It's frowned upon by magicians to reveal how tricks work. It can literally make you lose popularity and respect by the entire community. So I'm sure they wouldn't do that on live television.
Yes you woulda thought they woulda had a Fool U Trophy just for the bullet. In fact you should of not told them about the bullet and say at the end. When I left this cup up here's the bullet you fired 23 years ago travelled through space time.
I try to think about how these are done, but I'm not sure about this one 😅 like i can think of maybe 2 ways to get it, but they seem more complicated and with a performance its usually so much simpler. Well done 😁
