i remember watching your videos back when i was in middle school. videos like this about your pennyboard inspired me to start just cruising on my skateboard and i even eventually bought a nickelboard lol. now that i pretty much grew up and finished my first year of college, i wanted to let you know that its so awesome to see you upload again and i cant wait to see the new content you're gonna come up with :)
Thank you for the amazing comment. It means a lot to know that I offered you a bit of inspiration. I'm glad you are enjoying the new content, and look forward to rolling more out in the near future. Best of luck in school. Never grow up too much...it's aways good to have a bit of kid in you :)
Hahaha damn, literally same. He also unintentionally introduced me to asmr before I even knew what it was. The voice & vibe from the vids is soothing and relaxing as hell. Nice to see that nothings changed besides the name
Penny brand boards are truly incredible. I found one in a storm drain outlet all rusted and beat up, bought new bearings and cleaned it up a bit and it’s an incredible ride. Definitely recommend!
This is very likely THE best testimonial Penny could have asked for - real life long term testing that demonstrates what a great value their boards are. I'm 63 and just got back into skateboarding after a 45-year hiatus. I bought my son several Penny boards when he was growing up and I always thought they were intriguing so it was no surprise that I bought Penny boards - 4 of them - when I got back into the sport. 🤙
Man,I remember when you posted the girst video of this Penny, it's so nice to get a feedback of nowadays stats. Mine is in great condition too, with no maintenance lol. Greetings from Brazil!
We bought our boards the same exact year. I also haven’t done a THING to it maintenance wise. Never even changed the bearings nor have I lubricated them, and it still feels like I’m riding a cloud. I can only imagine how smooth it would feel with a bearing change
@mhm ok haha my penny board kinda took a toll and the bearings died after like 7 years, replaced the bushings, bearings, and wheels and my god it feels like a cloud
Bro I legit have a white penny board with black wheels and red hardware because of your videos. I found your channel when I was a senior in high school. I bought a house this past December and I rescued 2 huskies who are always full of energy so I started riding my penny board again and I let them pull me on it for like an hour a day in my neighborhood they love it. Anyways, good to see you uploading again this brought back memories lol.
haha thats awesome! Is your board holding up as good as mine? Congrats on the house. I adopted a dog recently, he was a stray on the streets of Bogota Colombia actually. Might meet him in a future video. Cheers!
Kualalumpar Videos Holding up great! I took the grip tape off about a year ago so barely any wear on the plastic and nothing wrong with the trucks, wheels, or screws. Congrats on the dog btw!
This is the video I've looking for many years, the video that tell how the stock penny takes the beating for years. Thanks for making this video now iam really confident with my purchase.
I remember watching your videos as a young teen back when I was in middle school. You inspired me to get a penny board. I stopped once I reached high school because I began driving myself but ever since I graduated, my friends and I have been riding around the city exploring places we've never been to before. Thank you for inspiring me to pick up my penny again.
Really good review, thank you. Your 7-year experience with your board and documented proof of how well it has held up is really a testament to the quality of Penny skateboards. Thanks for this review!
You are the reason that I bought a Penny board many years ago, and I've used it heavily all through my first semester of college in addition to using it throughout middle and high school. This video brought back so many memories for me and it's so great to see you on RU-vid again, even if I saw your video 6 months late hahaha. I hope you know you've inspired so much of your audience and I hope everything is going well for you!
Hey Ethan! Nice to hear from you. Can’t thank you enough for your kind words. Means A lot. Very happy I provided a bit of inspiration to get a board. Thanks for all the years of being a subscriber. Here’s to many more! Take care 🍻
I Tried a skateboard (not a penny) and i loved it! I’m 12 years old and i searched on Amazon some longboard but there are too big, so i searched for a not official pennyboard, but i’m not shure to buy it, but After this video i’m probably going to buy an 27” pennyboard because are very strong and they have an extreme durability! So i preferre to spent little more, but better. 👍 Ps. Are passed some day and i bought a penny nickel board 👍 (casper)
Damn time moves fast. I remembered watching you when I was in the 5th grade, you actually inspired me to buy a board. I’m a first year senior now and seeing your vids again brings back the nostalgia.
Just bought a rasta coloured authentic Penny Australia 2014 board from Goodwill for only $3, all it needed was a little TLC; 2 bearings needed to be replaced / other 6 bearings cleaned & relubricated (Marvel Mystery Oil works wonders)... Sanded down the edges, wiped it down real good. Very good buy! I ride "normal" skateboards & this is my first Penny board... This thing cruises all the way down the block with just 1 push. For a 10 year old board, it is great!!
Nice seeing one of your vids popping in my feed, I remember watching your penny board storied years ago when this was really trending. Have a nice one mate!
The joy it brings me to know that you’re back is insane. Your videos inspired me to get a board and start exploring. Keep up the fantastic work brotha 🤙🏼
im so glad your video popup in my feed! its been a while still love your videos edit: Penny Brand are amazing, 7yrs and still rides smoothly, even w/out maintance i got a knock off 27" still amazing after 3yrs, but when i cleaned it last day the pivot cup came off into pieces... 😅
aw look at you, growing right in front of our screens lol, remember when you were a little kid dropping pennyboard vids ^_^ nice to know u're still riding!
Dude I own a Globe Bantam Clear and a Pennyboard in large part because of your videos. My pennyboard has required new pivot cups to the trucks. But no other maintenance was required. My nickelboard also needed new pivot cups after several years. The Globe Bantam Clear has been flawless from a maintenance standpoint (but it is annoyingly heavy). Best regards from Brasilia, Brazil.
Glad you’re back! I will say that I had a pair of Vans where the waffle pattern sticks out as bumps. They sat inside the deck of the penny board amazingly!
I must've unsubscribed a year or two ago when I was clearing out my subscription box. I randomly got the urge to watch one of your old videos, and lo and behold, you uploaded today. I re-subscribed immediately and It's so great to see your uploading again! The original penny board video is the first one I watched of yours. Hope you're doing well!
idk who you are or what you do mainly but i love you’re getting back into the game, having 30k says something about your personality man, keep on striving and pushing for content ✊🏼 30k people have found you, and liked you, keep going!! 💪🏼
Thanks for the comment! I appreciate it! I make videos because I enjoy being creative and interacting with my great subscribers like you. Its a real pleasure. Thanks for watching.
I have had my original penny board for 9 years! I accidentally had a huge fall and it snapped in half and I was super sad and surprised that this thing could snap:( What we did instead of buying a new one we took the wheels from the broken one and put the on the deck of an cheap one to save money🙂
I just used it on rainy weather and it's awesome! No remorse because it's plastic i also notice it's faster than my regular skateboard while riding with the stock bearings, if i free spin the wheel it doesn't spin much but when i roll on it it is very fast
I don't get why people hate on penny boards. You can't deny that they're durable, smooth to ride and are just generally great cruisers. Sure, they aren't the best for tricks, but that's not what they're made for.
Agree. I think they're excellent cruisers and are reasonably priced, too. Really hard to beat this combination. BTW, three guys at Braille have videos of them doing tricks on the Penny, Nickel, and the 32" cruisers.
@@DonaldHSchon right? I got myself a 32" penny and it's so good for just riding around in town, can do some basic tricks on it, but it's definitely more difficult to do tricks on it because of the flexibility. Still such a good street board though
Ehhh nice to see another video man, great to see your penny in good condition after all those years, mad nostalgia from my first time watching your unboxing on it
Glad you enjoyed, I just revisited my unboxing video. I real classic. Makes me happy to see my board holding up so well over the years. Thanks for watching!
Thank You once again for another great video!! Do you know whether or not Penny has kept this productionquality? It's not unheard of that a company lowered the product's quality for finacial gains once they established their name. I'm thinking about getting a board in the future, but I have no experience nor any knowledge of boards etc. It's just a thought I had watching this (awesome) video. Thank you once again!
Hi there! This is actually something I was thinking about while making this video. I unfortunately, cannot comment on Pennys current production quality since I only have my 7 year old board. Maybe I'll have to get a new board in the future and compare the two. Best of luck, sorry I couldn't be more help. Thanks for watching!
for 7 years you used the board rain or shine and never replaced or at least cleaned your bearings? didn't it get stiff? like wasn't there any signs of corrosion?
damn my wheels came apart after 3 years the bearing popped out of its socket last week i ordered new wheels and bearings and they come exactly in summer xD
Welcome back!!:) Okay lol random question: What is your first name?😂 I’m not sure if you’ve said it before but I’ve always wondered lol! Also, are you okay after the wipeout at the end?! Just noticed that:( Haha, have a great rest of the day!
Also, if the nose was used for braking, the wear is amazing! The same goes for the sides of the board. If you used it for braking, it's just mindblowing! But if you didn't, it's incredibly mundane. 🙄🙄🙄 (you think frequent usage over 7 years of tail scraping could possibly look like that? 🤣)
My pivot cups have worn down and now the metal part has been worn down a bit. Had this happened to you? Do you know of anywhere to by replacements or make your own?
Penny sells replacement pivot cups. They are sold together with spare bushings. You have to buy the bushings in order to get the pivot cups. Unfortunately the penny trucks use non-standard size pivot cups, so only the original Penny pivot cups or Penny clone pivot cups will fit. Hope this isn't too late to help your pennyboard.
hey, I dont know if you'll see this but I hope you do. i have the same shoe size as you but i may weigh more. i weigh 180 and my question is an easy one. are the bushings hard enough to be stable? i want to get a penny pretty badly it's just that I want to make sure my penny board will treat me right once I get it like yours has treated you. thanks and I hope I said what I needed to. also....just one more actually. how satisfying is it to see your pure white board age from its once perfect white to dirtied up from adventures?
Hey there! From my experience the bushings are plenty stable, very little wobble, especially at high speeds where many boards tend to do it. It’s been nice that my penny has held up to well over the years but it would be nice to give it a bath to try and restore its white shine 😀. Thanks for watching!
Hey there! Thanks for the comment! Check this video out and it has a bit of an explanation of why I haven't made a video in a bit 😁 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pGeKH1DKDpU.html
I ended up getting one because of your video xD i got the Casper glow 22, i was about to get a knock off from big 5.. but I'm 220 lbs so i went with Penny. And i don't regret it it's my second day rolling getting used to it and i love it
