When Penson said we're worried about the wrong things if we're worried about the government but out society is falling apart and the family unit is in tatters I felt it. We can't even lead ourselves as individuals, let alone relationships, families. Mmm. True.

Thank you Lelo, what a wonderful conversation. I envy your guest for being close with his siblings. I pray to God in my next life i am close to my siblings. Lobola never made sense to me, i feel like women are being sold. Paying Lobola gives a man control over the woman and in that way it is seen as purchasing a person as demonstrated by the following: “… women are less powerful because after Lobola he will be the ruler in the house.” “Yes, it makes them seem as a commodity and also they have no say.” Today's lobola is a business transaction. My son is not going to pay hundreds of thousands for someone. He's not going to suffer while im around. Marriage is an agreement between two parties. Communication is key to a "scuccessful' marriage. Talk about finances, talk about your fears, talk about cheating. Talk!

Not to be overly religious, the part about parents telling their children not to bekezela etc. because they don't want them to feel pain. Just like Abraham was asked to "kill" his son, I think the conceptual relevance today would be: Give your child up to the world, that's what strengthens them, otherwise you are unbeknownst to you, creating a weakling that will crash at the first sign of tragedy.
