Haha, it definitely helps when singing bass parts. When I was in choir in middle and high school I was told to do that at times either to help my mind think of how to sing the note or help me subconsciously be able to hit the note I was going for. It looks funny, but it works!

Miekel um have you heard their evolution of music? Mitch easily hit the high note in bohemian rhapsody and that was years ago! I definitely think Mitch could get on "Urie's level" probably even pass it

Yeah, Mitch. He has an insanely wide range. I think he's amazing. His pitch, his tone, and how natural he sounds, where as Scott, the guy next to him in the brown, is a lot more forced, and nasal. You can see when he's singing that he's singing nasally and that it isn't as natural.
I love this band mainly because the music but also the diversity in it. Seriously tho a mix of A black dude A chick A gay dude A fucking giant And Jesus
I highly doubt they would because of what the word heathens means, and because of that, Kevins religion doesn't agree as he is unable to sing lewd songs. That's why most songs are changed for their covers, too.
Some people are saying they think this version took away all the emotion from the original, but honestly I love the contrast between TOP's original and PTX's cover. The original gives the feeling of somebody struggling through life and trying to make sense of the weird world they live in. But in this cover it's as if that person has accepted the craziness of life, and has decided to just enjoy it and live it to the fullest. Or maybe I've just been thinking about it too much (I've been thinking too much...)
I've never heard of this group before. Im in the PTX fandom. What makes their covers so great is the exposure it gives to those listeners who might have never heard of the group they're covering before. Then Bam! new fans. Also, I like your interpretation of the emotions they cover in their cover vs the original. HAND (have a nice day)
i kinda like this version better. dont get me wrong i absolutely love the orginal but this one sounds more melancholy then the orginal which i love alot.
I guess you've just gotta remember they're not trying to copy the style bc they're using their own style. I'm a huge tøp fan too and I think what they did is pretty cool
I'm a huge twenty one pilots fan and a huge fan of ptx and I absolutely LOVE THIS! top fans who are complaining are probably complaining cause they're not used to a cappella. When I first heard ptx it took awhile for me to warm up to them. Didn't help that the first time I heard them was a live performance on tv. But then I went to their official site on youtube and realized their genius. Plus, they never sound good on youtube live performances that are not from their own channel or on tv. No offence to Nova or anything but nobody gets the right balance for their voices with the mics. The best is on the ptx official site, their recordings or when they're live in person.
I'm not a fan of accapella, but you can't say that doing this doesn't takes immense talent, timing skills, and group coordination. These guys are amazing.

Scott is capable of feeling the song while performing, but he is the one I most frequently catch mentally stepping back and just looking at the others while they're all so into feeling the song and focusing on their parts and it's almost as if he's thinking about how proud he is of his friends. he expresses his appreciation for his friends and their talent so much that it warms my heart.
+HypnotizeNLP you just have to listen more carefully you'll be able to hear. And it makes sense if you don't really hear, they might want to rest there voices since they are on tour
i guess since i've listened to the tøp version for so long plus i'm not used to scott specifically rapping let alone a tøp song, it was a bit eh to me. but once they started singing i was like "frick yeah"
not trying to be that person at all, but i’m watching this in 2024 and it instantly took me back to high school. like, damn. i got into ptx after someone wanted to do evolution of music with a group of us for a choir concert (i normally sang soprano at the time but i loved to try my hand at tenor/bari so i did scott’s part!) and i started watching as many videos as i could as research to perfect the blend and tone quality and it’s so crazy to think about how much time has passed and what’s changed both in the group and in my life since the day i first saw this video.
honestly I don't usually like twenty one pilots covers just because many can't do things in the same way as Tyler but they try, but I'm glad you guys did it, because it was actually good! Keep up the good work!

It sucks when in live performances the producers/audio engineers lower the volume of harmony voices and leave only the bass, percussion and lead voice loud. Scott's part was practically unhearable just after he finished the "rap" part and made the second voice after that. Kirstin's voice is also low through the video. I mean, they have trained a lot in order to make their voices blend and make them as hearable as they want just to be lowered by a sound engineer?
My choir teacher actually knows Avi and texts with him sometimes. We did The Seed (which is by him) and he texted him about it. He also worked with all of the members at Acapella Academy.
to people saying its bad, it just isn't; their voices and harmonies are fab. Yes it may be different to the original but isn't that the point of a cover? I think they did a great job!x
