Pentatonix performing their medley of Daft Punk songs live from the Grandstand stage at the San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar, CA on June 24, 2014. This was shot with a Sony Cyber-shot HX50V. #TheRealConcertKing
Yeah, these guys can be so pitch-perfect they make autotune jealous. Just seemed the techs set this up as an afterthought so they could break early for lunch or something.
I know right? She's so relaxed and gorgeous during this concert! Love it when the crowd recognizes her solo and how she responds...so damn adorable ugh...
The sound technicians should get the sack. I heard them sing this in London in May and it was WAY better. I will say tho that they do tend to sing it fast. Avi and those dance moved will be the death of me I swear!
Live performances can get sped up easily for accappella groups due to them riding on the nerves... it's a different world on stage than in a studio, you end up riding an adrenaline high and speed up without realizing it
OMG YOu should have seen a video of them in Korea. There was this Korean girl that kept singing off key to all their songs in the audience and I was like "OMG SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!!!!! I want to hear THEM NOOTTTTT YOU!!!!" LOL
They like when the crowd is pumped, it makes them pumped too. Well, considering daft punk is always the opener I guess it's ok bc they are excited, but if you watch their live performances they usually scream A LOT in daft punk and then only really scream again when they do something really amazing. I get it, it's kinda annoying, but hey, is how the fans can show their love and excitment.
I have seen people comment pitch problems and to be honest, it's only Kirstie having problems. For the sound system being crappy, it's Avi and his low bass notes that blows the sound system apart. Plus, daft punk is almost techno! Of couse it is going to hard to perform any version of this song live!
Nice to follow a fantastic vocal ensemble(sp ?) and to participate in their continual growth in talent and showmanship. May they be around for a longtime!
Shot with a point n shoot digi from sony with no external microphone (I'm assuming). Why _would_ this sound balanced? The bass hits a "wall" which sounds like a smart sound feature to keep the earsplitting clipped noise from coming out. The whole sound seems compressed and lacking top end integrity. I don't know how live shows are recorded for optimal quality but I am almost certain this was a lot cooler in person. Thanks for the shot though.
Mom:what do you want to be when you grow up? Son:I what to be like Mitch. Mom:Who is Mitch? Son:A high pitch voiced boy that is gay.Cool right! Mom:ummmmmmmm, son.I still love the way you are.
I don't know, and I know I'm probably gonna get hated on for saying this, but I don't know if it's just me or if anyone else hears it. When kirstie does her solo at around 1:50, it almost sounds like she's singing through her teeth or with a little bit of a lisp. Especially at the beside you part. Is this just me or does anyone else hear it too?
It's because of the screaming fans. Pentatonix can hardly hear themselves when the fans are screaming their asses off. Plus, their mics are all bad, and this is recorded from a phone. So of course the audio would be caked and full of static. But they actually sound amazing live now. So no need to be disappointed anymore😊
It's not just her, although she's the most noticeable one. However, they're live. It's actually better than I expected them to be; their harmonies aren't as tight as they might (should) be. They definitely improved over the course of the song, though! For a group that sounds just as good live as recorded, try "The Real Group" from Sweden.
Her mike is turned up way too much, they need to turn her down so she can blend in better with the group. You can tell that she's trying to sing quieter.
