Hi everyone! I am closing in on 1 MILLION views on my channel! Please feel free to make suggestions on how you would like me to celebrate it! It can be a specific video request, or it can be something else. Just be creative! If I see one that I like, or it has lots of support from others, I might just do it! Thank you again!
You could do a recap of your favorite reactions so far. Dem levants did that to celebrate the new year and made a compilation of their reactions and watched them back. You could also try live streaming on youtube and do live reactions. Lastly, if you want to just sit and talk you could describe your Pentacon experience.
You could do a Pentatonix albums marathon reaction as Pentatonix haven’t made music videos about all of their songs and their are some really good ones hidden away across their 5 albums: PTX vol 1, PTX vol 2, PTX vol 3, PTX vol 4, and their latest one top pop vol 1.
Scott tried out for American Idol three times and got rejected. I would love for u to react to God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and Oh Come All Ye Faithful.
Honestly, I don't think ANYONE minds the double reactions Jerod. I wish reactors would do more of them actually. Awesome reaction and commentary as always! Congrats on 1M VIEWS!! ❤️🙏.....p.s. From one choir nerd to another- I was in women's choir, A' Capella choir and show choir all at the same time in addition to music theory.... Music is life! 🎼🎹🎶🎵
If you think you’ve enjoyed your Pentatonix journey so far, hang on. It is about to get exponentially better. Christmas is their thing and they do it better than anybody. Their Christmas albums have been chart toppers every year. You must start this journey with “Mary Did You Know.” It went viral on Facebook and RU-vid and did more than any other song to launch their careers. And please do “White Winter Hymnal.” It is on the same album and was an early demonstration of their creativity. But take your time and enjoy as many of their Christmas songs as you can. They are hands down the best in the world at Holiday music.
Their Christmas music is going to blow you away. They won a grammy for one of their Christmas songs! I can't wait to see your reactions to Mary, did you know? (what brought me into the pentaholics world), Oh come all ye faithful, Carol of the Bells, That's Christmas to me, LIttle Drummer Boy, Silent NIght, God rest Ye Merry Gentleman, and of course Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (grammy!!) Almost makes you feel like the proud parent watching them from the begining isn't it?? I feel exactly the same and get so excited when i see people enjoying them and appreciating their talent!!
talk about honors and "making it"..you should react to them performing at the Kennedy Center honors. They do "that thing you do" for Tom Hanks and OBAMA!
I absolutely love their Christmas music and at any time of year. They can take all the Christmas Carols that we have sung and heard sung a thousand times and make them seem fresh and new again...without taking anything away from the original. They had a one hour Christmas special on NBC in both 2016 and 2017 and unfortunately I missed the 2016 one but last year's was great. Hopefully they will get to do another one this year. I think I said this already in another comment but the very first song that really put them on the map was their version of "Little Drummer Boy" so that would be a really good one to do next. All of their Christmas songs are good but I think that "Mary Did You Know" is exceptional. Don't worry about doing two, I would have gladly watched if it was three or four.
Great reactions! It's always been clear from your comments that you know and love music. Some of their Christmas videos are my all-time favorites, including the two you reacted to here. Please put these on your future reaction list: Mary Did You Know, Silent Night and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (for which they won their second Grammy). Oh - almost forgot White Winter Hymnal.
I'm so glad you did the double reaction. Today's not been the best of days but nothing can lift my spirit better than Christmas music and there's no better Christmas music than what PTX does. Thanks for making my day better. As others have said their versions of "Little Drummer Boy" , "Mary Did You Know", and "White Winter Hymnal" are awesome. Now I'm off to listen to more PTX christmas music. lol
Oh boy. Get ready for a ton of requests for every Christmas video they've ever made now. I'm happy with regular PTX videos or Christmas videos. Still would love to see more videos from Superfruit's Future Friends album or some of their medleys you haven't done. Also I was wondering how you knew their original songThat's Christmas To Me being a fairly new fan. Forgot about the Pentacon choir. Loved watching you watch the second song. You seemed to have that same sense of pride I have in them watching them perform so well on national television. And I wrote that ^ before I heard what you had to say at the end of the video about having pride for them. So without hearing you say it yourself it was very obvious just for your facial expressions.
Jerod, this, as usual, was most awesome!! I was a choir nerd in high school and college as well -- in all the choirs we offered -- full choir, ensembles and madrigal choir. . .believe it or not, I sang mostly tenor as we were always in need of male voices (LOL). . .I sang alto for the most part, but could cover the tenor range as well. . .PTX just has the most beautiful harmonies and sound so incredible for there just being 5 of them. May God continue to bless them and keep them healthy as they continue on their journey! As for a suggestion for you, I only have one thing to say: just keep doing what you're doing! I really appreciate the musical knowledge (you are the only reactor I watch for this reason) and your reactions -- especially to PTX -- I am a Pentaholic as well. I will be going to see them for the second time in as many years on September 1st in Burgettstown, PA, at the KeyBank Pavllion (Used to be called Starlake Amphitheater). . .
Still waiting for La la Latch😊 also here are some Christmas suggestions, White Winter Hymnal, Silent Night (live in Germany 2014) Carol of the bells ( live on The Talk) Dance of the sugar plum fairy ( they won their second Grammy for this arrangement) God Rest, Away in a Manger, Little Drummer Boy, Joy to the world, The first Noel, Mary did you know, Deck the Halls... I could go on forever 😂 looking forward to your next reaction Jerod❤
Ohhh, I have to disagree with your recommendation for "Carol of the Bells" on "The Talk". Mitch, for some reason, was terribly flat for that performance and it is not their finest moment. There are a number of live performances of that song that are better, and the version from their Christmas special is the best of all, because the sound engineers know how to work with an a capella performance. I don't think that those on "The Talk" were the best. I think that the best live performance I've heard from PTX was on Jimmy Kimmel Live, when they absolutely slayed "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen". It's clearly not a lip-sync; Mitch and Kirstie had to stop to breathe, which was carefully eliminated in the album track, but they were all dead-on for pitch and timing. The timing issue is particularly relevant in this song because of the accelerando in the last minute.
Love the double reaction and how you pointed out that they killed it on a competing show. I bet Simon wishes they would have tried AGT (although I believe Scott tried a few shows earlier alone and AGT might have been one). You mentioned comparison videos, and I know this one isn't a Christmas video, but there is a Bohemian Rhapsody video that Daved Thompson put together combining Queen, Pentatonix, and Panic at the Disco as a mashup. He did some adjustments to PTX tone to match the other two, but I think you would totally enjoy it. While I enjoy a lot of PTX and Home Free music, I really believe that Christmas music is their strongest music. Merry (early) Christmas!
I always love your reactions Jerod! What is cool is that Scott auditioned for AGT 3 times, but didn't have a sob story so didn't make it through. Flash forward, Simon is now a huge fan of Pentatonix and Scott's voice. It's awesome!
Thanks so much for this, Jarod! I never saw that AGT performance! Seeing Simon Cowell jump to his feet the moment they finished made me so proud. I'm glad you're getting in on that Pentaholic Pride. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I'm not REALLY their Grandma! Oh, and congratulations on that almost million views. Be sure to let us know when you make it.
Three choirs-yeah nerd-I like a good nerd- don’t mess with me when I am watching my extended directors cut of the lord of the rings trilogy, or dr who marathons, or every ptx sing off performances-Once a month all the way through and born to be wild still amazes me. So yeah nerds!
My very favorite Christmas song is "The First Noel." It's similar to "Hallelujah" in that by the time they are finished, you are actually exhausted from crying and way too many eargasms. But my very favorite is one they sang only ONE time, as far as I know, whilst on tour in Japan, perhaps because it was written by a Japanese composer: "Christmas Eve." You won't be disappointed!
I love how you get so excited listening to them! And I just saw them live in concert on their Summer Tour and they seriously sound just as good, if not better LIVE..they are amazing!!!
Loved the double reaction! For me you can make it triple, quadruple...the more the better ;-)!! My favorite xmas songs of PTX are ‘oh come all ye faithful’ and ‘the first Noël’ Looking forward to your reaction!
I saw the video of the Pentacon choir doing "That's Christmas to Me" and loved it! If I'd been there, I'd have been soooooo all over that! :) You'd have had a little help on the bass (although the old pipes are a bit rusty, having not sung in earnest for about 16 years, and it's been 45 years since I last sang seriously back in college).
We could have used you! Lol. The bass line was not terribly hard. I sight read it for the recording since I missed the rehearsals. It was a pretty simplified bass line.
Funny thing, though... despite all those years (Jr. High through College) I somehow managed to never learn to read music. :) I learned everything by ear and sang it from memory... from Christmas carols, traditionals, French madrigals, to Handel's "Messiah". It would have been a blast to be there and give it a try though.
Bill Godwin-Austen at Pentacon: Am a rusty soprano but managed to hold down the alto part (Mitch). Mario was a great teacher making sure everyone had their parts during rehearsal. Hopefully you can make it to Pentacon2020!!!
So glad you did these together, Thank you! I knew you would explain so well the feelings of pride and satisfaction we were all feeling to see and hear “our group” do so well and receive such appreciation from others like Simon and AGT. Thanks for this, you made my day!!! There’s another vid out there called “Famous people reacting to Pentatonix” that’s a good way to find other vids of them blowing other celebrities’ minds! (I especially loved their Elvira at the CMA’s and the Tom Hanks one at Kennedy Center.) Also, I Can’t tell you how many times I’ve rewatched that breakdown section of Santa is coming to town! Pure Genius! PS Congrats on the 1 M views!!!! You deserve it!
Love the reaction! If you want to see the Country Music World's reaction to Pentatonix, they performed a short version of "Elvira" on the CMAs that was FANTASTIC!!! They also performed with Stevie Wonder on another music award show. That could be a fun double reaction!
The genuine DELIGHT that the entire CMA audience gives them instantly upon hearing them do a bit of Elivra is one of THE most satisfying and endearing moments I've seen as a PTX fan.
YES, PTX!! They never fail to make me happy! And no, we definitely don't mind TWO reactions in one video! Please do more of those! Still waiting for your reaction to Praying 😜
If you do anymore PTX sing off reactions, I suggest checking out some of the openers from season 3. My personal favorites are the Halloween Medley (it's so good) and the R&B medley :)
well merry christmas!! i can't wait for more reactions, i love. and i agree with everything you said at the end. my favorite christmas song by them is just for now (and it's the same case as hallelujah tbh, not really a christmas song but they released it on a christmas album), if you ever decide to make reactions with only the audio (unfortunately there's no video for this one) you'll have to check it out, but even if you don't react then just listen to it, it's truly beautiful
One thing about Simon Cowell, even though he's soft now, you can kind of tell when he's just "being nice" rather than when he really enjoys something. I feel like he wouldn't have said they were brilliant if they weren't brilliant, so I definitely understand what you're saying there.
Could you please react to "Gravity" cover by Clark Beckham & Yebba (Abbey Smith) and "Tennessee Whiskey" by Clark Beckham feat. Madison Ryann.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️
@@JerodM I've always heard her called Kirstie, I know Kirstin is her name I'm just not used to hearing her actually be called that. Or maybe I just can't hear properly. I always thought it was Kirstie.
