This is one of many instances where their live performance is better than the studio version. The audience clapping along, the energy of them being successful and returning to the show, it all contributes.
This performance was the next season of the sing off, but two years later. They were still delivering their bag of tricks, this time an Avi solo! Have a great one. Cheers!
Great reaction. Thank you. I was so proud of Pentatonix for this triumphant return performance. There are 3 more Pentatonix "The Sing Off" return performances. All are from 2 Christmas specials. There is also a cute video of Pentatonix giving advice to the final 3 groups on Season 4. One group was Home Free.
You got that right! lol He never was given enough vocal performances I always wanted to push Scott off the stage to let others have a lead lol. I'm speaking figuratively not actually lol
@@justlinsu during the early days I was right there with you.....Avi is happy and doing what he loves and I think that fantastic...miss him with PTX ..its not same but I completely understand why he had to leave.
@@reginairvine3919 Yes I felt so sad for him as his mother was going through chemo therapy and his Dad was struggling too. Avi became very depressed and needed to be with family. His song Quarter Past Four showed us just how sad he was. Thanks for the reply...saying hi from Australia
I also loved the parallel of Avi singing at the end of this to Mitch in their Dog Days Are Over performance. This was also a full length song, where most sing-off performances were abbreviated length (and most other singing competition shows as well); yet they still manage to keep everyone entertained. The fact that they helped make acapella more mainstream came down to a lot of hard work (not to mention a HEAVY dose of talent). They all really deserve the success that has come their way.
This is one of my favorites. Such a great performance. They came back even after the record company dropped them. Of course by the time this show aired in 2013, they were on their way to stardom. Love that Avi and Mitch had bigger roles in this song. Mitch no longer had to hide his voice. Avi actually gets to sing. A lot of changes happened in those two years. ❤
The reason they can do it is that they are all 👽👽👽👽👽s……… or maybe just PHENOMENALLY hard-working, talented and creative humans 😁. I feel so blessed to be alive during the time when I can actually go see them do what they do at a live performance. I truly hope you have the opportunity to do that someday, Saeed. 💜
mrduckbear has a longer version of this where you see Pentatonix "coaching" some of the season 4 groups, including Home Free. It's over seven minutes instead of 3-4 minutes.
🌟ABSOLUTE ICONS🌟 ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT performance!!! 👉👉PENTATONIX came back again the next season and a FANTASTIC Christmas medley! Please react to it!!
I loved how that female judge pointed to Avi and she couldn't keep her eyes off him. (me either lol) Loved that Mitch opened and Avi looked so more relaxed and more himself ....I always felt he and Kevin were not given enough solo parts...there is a beautiful video of Silent Night that Avi put together and they all sang it in an old chapel...the harmonies and the arrangement is just stunning. Thanks Saeed I love your channel and your analysis of each artist.
There were five "seasons" of The SingOff, 2009-2011 and 2013-14. Seasons 1, 2 and 4 had seven or fewer episodes and ran in a one or two week period in December as off-season replacements for NBC regular season shows. Season 5 ended up being only a two-hour special. Only season 3, Pentatonix's season, ran in a weekly slot from September to December and had eleven episodes.
I love that Mitch actually got to show some of his high range in this performance. I don't know why but I guess when they were competing they were highly encouraged/forced that he would have to hide some of his higher voice talents and tone down the gay I guess is was what they took it as. I don't really know the whole story but I love that they start at this performance like look!
I was really hoping you would do the longer version of this video where they briefly visit with each of the 3 finalist groups - one of which is Home Free.
Recommend their video of “Pentatonix - The Recording Of Evergreen”. It’s a BTS look at their creative process in making the Grammy nominated album of Evergreen.
The previous season when they won was two years prior. This is season 4 and, yup, this is when Home Free won. This is also where Kirstie met her future ex lol. I'm having goosebumps with you watching this, Saeed. Shawn is so proud, right? The planets were aligned just right when PTX came to be. I also call it serendipity.
The Christmas performace was 3 years after they won. Home Free were the previous season's winners but they still asked ptx back for their Christmas special. That says something about what they thought of them. Probably selfish on nbc's part as they knew ptx would bring the ratings, but I'm still happy that they thought to keep having them back. Btw this performance of o need your love was two years after they won. The show skipped a year before they brought back season 4. Yes this was Home Free's season to compete. 2013. Ptx won in 2011.
There was also a Christmas special that aired 1 week after PTX was announced as winners. I posted all the links under Saeed's PTX Love Lockdown reaction.
@@SaeedReacts. plus, this was the season 4 finale, Home Free wins. There's a longer video where ptx visits each of the 3 finalists. I watched another reactor who freaked out seeing Avi and Tim interact. But A Capella is a small world. Matt, who replaced Avi, performed in front of ptx during high school. They have photos.
I remember thinking at the time "this is like the Harlem Globetrotters taking on the local team." As I recall, this is the season when Home Free won the contest. HF and PTX are the two best acappella groups around now.
