Imagine by Pentatonix may be one of the most important videos of this century. This group took a classic song of tolerance and peace and modernized it as only they can. They are a perfect example of what respect and love can be like. Five people with differences in race, religion, gender, and sexuality can do beautiful things when they work together. I cried when I heard this the first time. I still usually tear up when they go into Wall of Sound mode. Unfortunately showing this to Pentaholics is kind of like preaching to the choir with most of us.

If this song is preaching to the choir for Pentaholics, and if the goal is to get more people to "join us," as the song says, then maybe we just need the intermediate step of making more Pentaholics. Surely *that's* easy enough to do - just show _Hallelujah_ to people, watch them get Mitch-slapped, and then tell them there's more where that came from.

Who knew anyone could add another level to John Lennon's iconic song, "Imagine?" Pentatonix did it not only with the signs, but also because they live the very message they're conveying. Only those wildly different voices could come together in a wall of sound that brings us to tears. I'm amazed that reactors are able to pick out as much as they do in a single viewing of the incredibly complex PTX covers. I know you love seeing Kevin sing, as well as beat box....but just watch Say Something, and Shallow, and you'll see Kevin playing the cello as well..........he is so talented, plus having perfect pitch.............
The best part of that full, rich, powerful wall of sound they do at the end - aside from how unbelievable it is that it's ONLY five people, because it sure sounds like twice that - is that their VIBRATOS even synced up perfectly right before the sound just drops out into dead silence in perfect unison. When anyone is THAT "on," it just gives goosebumps, your chest swells.... it has an incredible effect on the listener, you can't not have an emotional reaction to what they're doing. And Pentatonix does stuff like that A LOT. This song is a phenomenal example of it.
You should check out Home Free (Ring of Fire) with guest .......Drum Roll ..... Avi. Two great bass singers. Tim, Home free's bass, is good friends with Avi and taught him how to hit the very low notes. Also Kevin has a solo that shows off his vast skills called "Down". But for Pentatonix you need to check out the new song "The Prayer". It's amazing.

Kevin was an instrumentalist (cello and saxophone) coming in to the band. He and Avi were roommates for several years and Avi taught Kevin to sing. That is why his singing only occurs a bit later from when they started. They are still friends and Kevin mentioned just recently that he was in Nashville and went to Avi's home and Avi made him dinner. For Avi Kaplan music outside of Pentatonix his RU-vid channel is under his name Avi Kaplan. He is a singer-songwriter and his most famous song is "Change On the Rise" that has been used in television shows. His latest song is "First Place I Go". All of them are very different. He is having fun experimenting with composing for a different genre of music and with instruments. (Avi has been a guitar player for many years).

Not even gonna lie......as most Pentaholics....my favorite PTX song is whichever one Im listening to. That said.....because of the message & the purity of this one it is my actual PTX favorite. Also, every time I hear a new PTX song for the firat time....I listen 7 times. First is taking it all in, any visual & analyzing it against the original if it's a cover. Then, I focus on 1 member the whole song, thus adding 5 plays, & the last listen is recomputing each member's sound in the overall piece in my brain lol
New subscriber here, and a huge Pentaholic. You're going to have so much FUN watching and reacting to PTX songs! When you're ready for two originals, I recommend "Sing" and "Love Again". "Sing" is just crazy addictive to sing along to (go figure), and "Love Again" is simply INSANE. One recommendation that you'll see a lot of people swear by is to go get some quality headphones that cover your ears. Re-watch "Hallelujah" with those on and you'll discover so many rich tones and sounds that you hadn't before. It's really a huge upgrade. Looking forward to seeing more PTX reactions!

Carmen, I watch a lot of video reactors on RU-vid. I enjoy watching the reactions from many channels to the same song, and comparing them. I have to say that your reactions are the most honest and heart felt among them all, and you are adorable. I see the passing of the signs as the acceptance of the previous one, and then ending with the concept of all are one. I will love watching your channel grow. You deserve it.
Since you like Avi’s voice, you should react to his solo music. His most popular song is Change on the Rise and his newest release First Place I Go is beautiful! Love your reactions!
I definitely second this! These two songs alone show you what Avi has been able to do with the freedom of creativity he now has. He wrote both songs mentioned ("Change" released in 2019, "First Place" back in November 2021), sings all parts. You can't miss with any of his songs.
Another really good acapella group is called "Voiceplay". They have a more theatrical approach to their videos, dressing in costumes and doing some acting as well. It's worth checking out any of their stuff!
Once again, Pentatonix doesn't "cover" a song, they upgrade it. John Lennon wrote it, and this song alone would be enough to cement his reputation as one of the best song writers of all time. Bless you, John. We miss you. But John could *not* have performed it in this way, even with the rest of the Beatles to help. It truly requires an a capella group to do this, and the way Pentatonix points out that we're all individuals while all being a family is astounding. I cry every time I watch this video.

Very soothing and feels like a warm hug. Please react to his new song the First Place I go. It leans toward folk and Americana styles. His song Change on the Rise has been on a couple of television shows. You definitely get the deep lows and growls and the song promotes a positive vibe regarding change and empowerment. Absolutely love this song!! They did an amazing job and the wall of sound at the end is so wonderfully overwhelming! I've seen this video so many times now but I still get emotional at the message.
You should really try some of the evolution of videos. They are done in one take and amazing I would start with "evolution of music" but make sure you get to the "evolution of Michael Jackson" soon after. 😁 I'm enjoying your PTX journey and love your accent!

Awesome reaction You’re very astute and have become very knowledgeable in Pentatonix. A couple more highly loved videos which are probably already on your list are Sound of Silence Bohemian Rhapsody My Favorite Things The Wizard of Ahhhs By now I’m sure you know they were the winners of a singing competition show called The Sing Off. The following year a group called Home Free won the show. Pentatonix followers flock to video reactions from this group as well. They have more of a country style. A good video of theirs to start out on is Ring of Fire which was their finale winning song. The video also features Avi from Pentatonix. A third group from the show that keeps everyone watching and waiting for new videos is Voiceplay. They have a more theatrical flare. A good starting spot for them is Oogie Boogie Song The Little Mermaid Medley If you love Pentatonix then trust me you will love these groups too, everyone else surely does. And since you've seemed to have stumbled down the (a cappella rabbit hole) Check out "Home Free"... Their cover of "Ring of Fire" they had Avi Kaplan join them, they are all friends. I'm a huge a cappella enthusiast and have been a hardcore Pentaholic & HomeFry since they both won their respective seasons on the TV show, "Sing Off".
