"You're a mean one Mr Grinch" by Voiceplay is a nice start to test your new headphones. It came out 2 weeks ago. If you don't get a concussion from Geoff, they're not good enough.
I am a believer and this song blows me away every time I listen to it, and brings me to tears nearly as often. I love Pentatonix because they do songs that help me celebrate Christmas in a worshipful way, but they do festive songs as well. Absolutely amazing.
All of these! PTX! Carol of the Bells - Trust me you want to hear Avi on this one! White Winter Hymnal - Avi on this one also!!!! Little Drummer Boy - Pretty sure Avi is awesome on this one too! Mean One Mr. Grinch - Matt is amazing in this one! Coldest Winter - This one is just stunning!
“That’s Christmas to Me” is maybe my favorite Christmas song ever. Being separated from family for the holidays is always hard and the vocals are perfect and the video just kicks it home. Bittersweet nostalgia that I’m here for.
React to their “That’s Christmas To Me”. It’s an original, and the video has clips of them all from their childhoods. Also, I love their version of “The First Noel”.
Good reaction as usual. I'm going to make a strong recommendation for the Xmas season. Do a back-to-back-to back reaction on 3 videos that are cumulatively about 8+ minutes, but set the stage for this season..."Making Christmas" (based onTim Burton's 'Nightmare of Christmas'); "White Winter Hymnal"; and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen". These remarkably show their harmonies, synchronizing, creativity and technical skills ...AMAZING !! P.S. Don't forget the 12 days of Xmas !!
You're so right! I'm not religious at all but this song, and there performance, is just so beautiful! Another one like that for me is Home Free's How Great Thou Art.
I enjoyed watching you use your new headphones. Avi goes deep in "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fair". Tim goes deep in "Do You Hear What I Hear?" I vote that you do 2 Christmas songs a day. With only 12 you will miss so much.
I get goosebumps multiple times during this video. There is so much power in their performance and when that PTX "wall of sound" hits you there are all kinds of feels! Like you said, whether religious or not it's hard to not be mesmerized by this! Thanks for the reaction Jase! (There is so much good Christmas music out there so I'm hoping you'll do more than one a day. 🎄 You could easily do 12 days of just PTX--they have enough material. 😉)
We sang this one during my freshman year at high school! In the time since then I’ve graduated from just soprano to beatboxer, but this arrangement is always gorgeous and the way they sing it is incredible!
PTX recently dropped "Amazing Grace," which I believe is a part of their new Christmas album. Avi or no Avi (and the answer of course is "no Avi"), it's very powerful.
Matt is different, but Matt is awesome. It’s like a new evolution of Pentatonix. Same level of awesome, but a new treat to the ear. Also Avi as a solo artist? Wow!
I was absolutely blown away the first time I listened to it. I love that pentatonix does songs that, as a believer, I can listen to and experience as worship, whether they believe or not. They are spectacular.
I've always enjoyed this song from hearing it for the first time in middle or high school, and this rendition is hands down my all-time favorite. I don't care how many times I listen to it I will always get goosebumps and eyes watering. I don't consider myself religious but I can appreciate the meaning behind the piece.
It’s funny, you were the first person I ever watched react to PTX and you got me hooked on reaction videos lol it’s been so amazing being there at the beginning of your PTX journey & watching you become a full blown Pentaholic 🥰 if you’re doing 12 days of Christmas songs then you have to do PTX’s ‘12 Days of Christmas’ in fact you should definitely end on that one it’s phenomenal and also ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’ it’s pure PTX magic, no words but they still won a Grammy with it & there’s some great Mitch & Avi moments in there that you’ll thoroughly enjoy 😁
Pentatonix singing How Great thou Art featuring Jennifer Hudson brings me to tears, each and every time. I have seen Pentatonix in concert and just cried with joy over hearing them and the joy of it all. Absolutely one of my favorite groups of all time and I wish more people were able to truly appreciate them for their talents like you do!
I got to see PTX live a few years ago. It was the day Leonard Cohen died and yes, they sang Hallelujah. The best part of the concert? Singing “Light in the Hallway” without mics. The whole stadium had to be quiet to hear them and it was AMAZING. I’m not religious at all, but am a musician and absolutely love PTX arrangements. Keep the vids coming! ❤️
Thanks you for your great PTX reactions ! This is in Bronson cave, Griffith Park, L.A., CA. We got new SKULLCANDY headphones, they are awesome ! So much better than our old ones.
This song was my virgin (Get it?) PTX experience. It was some the most gorgeous harmony I'd ever heard. I became a Pentaholic.in that instant. Please listen to "That's Christmas to Me", one of their earliest Christmas tunes, and it's an original. Avi and Mitch both really shine in this one.
Pentatonix's greatest renditions (top 5 specifcally): Hallelujah, Imagine, Sound of Silence, Can't Help Falling In Love and Mary Did You Know. The power and raw emotion shown and experienced in these 5 make them truly almost spiritual to listen to.
from a fellow Avi super fan, thank you for your wonderful reactions. they make me smile, mostly because I know exactly how you feel when you hear them sing, especially Avi. Please react to the first noel, cant remember if you've reacted to dance of the sugar plum fairy (2nd Grammy win), oh come oh ye faithful and silent night. Happy Holidays Jase!!!!!
This was my first-ever introduction to Ptx, this song and music video when it first dropped and a friend posted it on Facebook. I've been a fan ever since.
Ohhh you are doing PTXmas you are going to see a lot of awesomeness! I love how you were just speechless... Common reaction tho 😂 (Btw we would love to see on our PTX discord server! Reply if you are interested)
Was so happy to see you do a PTX song! I haven't been on here much lately! Loved your reaction. I have heard this song sung almost every Christmas at church since Mark Lowry wrote it, and played violin to it once I hit high school. Will never get sick of it.
OOOOOOOOO Straight No Chaser's version of 12 Days of Christmas is great! It is my go-to Christmas song and the original song just sounds weird to me now!
This is one of my all-time favorite Christmas songs. Pentatonix standing in the cave (tomb) is a masterstroke - the link between Jesus' birth and death is given a visual anchor to this incredible song. Next Christmas, I recommend the concept album Do You Hear What I Hear? by Todd Agnew. A lot of guest vocalists join him to tell each part of the Christmas story from their own POV. It showcases a variety of styles (and emotions) and is an amazing musical journey to take for a well-known story.
