It gets no better than Christmas Sunday with PTX! Patreon: / bradsteele12 Original Video: • Pentatonix - The First... Twitter - / bradsteele01 Instagram - / bradsteele12 #PTX #ChristmasSunday #BradicalBandwagon
I LOVE when reactors point out his, Kevin’s and Matt’s parts since typically they aren’t the ‘soloists’ because I get so lost in the sound I forget it’s a capella and have even gone back to listen solely in their parts to appreciate more what they do. I have no musical background
This is absolutely one of my favorite PTX videos ever. I love when they give each person a solo section, and Avi in the majority of the lead fills my heart with peace, which we need at this time. Actually, Scott does sing a solo - the first part of the second verse, but he does it gently, no big runs or belting, so it fits right in with the tone of the whole video. Thanks for the great reaction.
You should check out their version of "The Little Drummer Boy" if you haven't already. Pentatonix elevated that song from one of my least favorite carols to one of my most favorite.
Yes! I've always liked "Drummer Boy," but it got recorded by everyone from Mickey Mouse to Mick Jagger (not really, but it felt like it) to the point where I never wanted to hear it again. * * * * * * *Until PTX recorded it.
I do not care if Avi is singing using his polyphonic (over tone) voice or singing Christmas Music, he has the perfect, deep, rich, chocolaty resonant voice out there. So glad his mother is a Messianic Hebrew so we can hear him singing these beautiful songs for us.
I doubt that has anything to do with it. Avi was asked if it bothered him to sing Christmas music and he said of course not he had been in choir. Besides there is a very long tradition of Jewish singers doing extremely popular Christmas albums in the United States just think of Barbara Streisand. Religious belief is not required.
That was so beautiful. The thing about PTX, they decide which voice is best for the different parts of songs. Ego does not seem to play a part in who sings what. I love that about them.
I'm glad you reacted to this one. Such an underrated version/cover, it's kinda sad. The harmonies are crazy good and, let me tell, Avi is perfect! Love his voice.
When it starts his bass cuts through and curls my toes...lol Such a beautiful, rich, warm voice. Love him to bits. Oh if only he had been given more moments like this....ah well...I'm loving his solo career ..... I love your face when he starts to sing...just saying lol
I LOVE this song. It's so underrated as compared with the other Christmas songs by PTX. I also second "The Little Drummer Boy" and "Angels We Have Heard On High". That's perfection!
O my gosh, i love YOUR voice!! And yes finally somebody who thinks Mitch has Freddie vibes, I love the mustache too and completely agree with you! And they are just fabulous!
For anyone who's ever met Mitch's dad, that 'stache gives us big Mike Grassi vibes! (But yeah, Freddie too.) Scott is the king of unexpected harmonies, but he DID have a solo, 4:20. And did you catch the sweet "Oo-oop oo-oop" backing up Scott at 4:27 and Kirstin at 4:42? (Not actual "p" sounds, but a quick glottal stop on a rising note. A little like the bird songs in "Come Along.") I haven't said anything about Avi, because when I think of him (especially on that last high "Noel"), I can't type past the lump in my throat.
One of my favourite Christmas carols! Beautiful. 👼 I love your adhoc chat, being real! Slightly distracted by the weird haircut, but that’s me and nothing to do with it all!
I agree with you, I love Christmas only that I would leave the tree and the decorations all year long,3 months it seems too little for us to enjoy them! and I really like your Christmas Sunday! but let's not leave Avi's voice in the last place, which is ... hot butter croissant with extra butter
What you call the "Freddie Mercury mustache" I call the "80's dad look" . As a child everyone of my friends dad including my own had one of those mustaches.
