Discovered Your reaction Videos through Your work (the son, the father) and its been a constant thrill and joy - keep up the work! Greetings from Germany
OMG! I was so excited to see your reaction pop up on my notifications. I couldn't click on it fast enough. I've been waiting to see your reaction to this magnificent rendition of such a beautiful song. I don't have a whole lot of reactors who are my favorites, but you are one of them! I love all of the minute details you point out that make the video even more interesting and beautiful. I'm so glad you reacted to this, it is by far one of my favorite upgrades by Pentatonix. I remember when I saw your very first reaction ever, about 18 months ago, and it was Pentatonix' cover of "Hallelujah". I was fascinated by your comments and knowledge of video production and loved the reaction. In the video you said you had seen an advertisement for them at Madison Square Garden. I loved watching you you get Mitch slapped when you heard him sing for the first time. You also said you would go see them next time they were in town, and now you get to witness them in person. I am vey jealous, as I am not near anywhere they are performing, but I know you will enjoy them all over again. To see them perform live is so amazing. I've watched you fall in love with them and it's been wonderful to see. Thank you so much for you wonderful, clear, knowledgeable and thoughtful past reactions and look forward to the ones in the future. They do not have a video out for "I Saw Three Ships" from their new Evergreen album, but please try to listen to it, because like always they take the classic Christmas songs and make one love them all over again! Happy Christmas!
Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction. I listened to live streams by Scott and Kevin the day before the song released and they both said that this was probably the most difficult, challenging arrangement they've ever done. Wow. And it shows - I do love those harmonies!
I was supposed to go to the one in upstate NY but emergency took the funds. I can't wait to hear how wonderful they are in person from you!!! This is definitely a Grammy worthy performance. Absolutely stunning.
Powerful song and powerful interoperation:). Thank you Lukas for sharing your love for music and perception of this piece. Sharing similar love for music and not that different perception is definitely one of sources of happiness for me. So, thank you Lukas. Have a great time on 7th of December.
You didn't notice that they were singing in English after they all came together. Everyone else sings that section in Italian. I've heard "The Prayer" by many artists and listening to Pentatonix is the first time I ever understood these words, since I don't speak Italian.
My jaw hit the floor when Scott started singing in Italian... He has always been my favorite for his versatility and soul, but man, I wasn't ready for this! ❤️
This song was written by David Foster and Carol Bayer Sager for the 1998 animated film, “Quest for Camelot”. Originally recorded by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, it’s been a favorite for over 20 years. Josh Groban got his big break by being asked to fill for Bocelli at two award show rehearsals. It’s been covered many times by many artists since then, but IMHO this is by far the best. How do you compare Celine’s soprano to Mitch’s counter tenor or Bocelli’s Italian tenor to Scott’s baritone? Or a duet backed by a full orchestra to five incredible a cappella voices? Mitch’s magic. Scott’s soul. Kirstie’s belting soprano. Matt’s underlying bass. Kevin’s driving percussion. Am so jealous you get to hear this live! More please!!!
That was the first time I remember hearing it. Interestingly, the first time we hear it, it is a direct prayer to God from Kayley's mother to watch over her on her quest. The broadened terms of "us/children" that became the popular studio version and the one known world wide to audiences is not the original use of the song. I always sing the version the mother sang first to myself upon hearing it and remember the movie because of it.
Your reactions are always fun, in-depth and heart felt, especially when it comes to PTX. You need to react to my favorite member, Kevin KO Olusola, that man is a beast! He speaks 5 languages, one of them fluent in Chinese Mandarin. He's Classically trained from the age of 5 in Piano, Sax and Cello. He has preformed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall twice, 1st time with the Sax, 17yrs old and 2nd time on the Cello 18yrs old. He finished Pre-Med by the time he joined PTX in 2011 at the age of 21. He is a musical and academic prodigy!! Here are some of the live studio songs he creates in his home studio, singing, playing and using a loop machine, producing the entire song instantly on his own. Here's the link to Kevin's cover of "Down" by Marian Hill ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IGjg193h4Ok.html And my other fav is Kevin's remake of "Sign of the Times" by Harry Styles ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hBFlhLEU7uU.html You will blow your mind watching these. trust me and enjoy. I know I'll enjoy seeing you react to them. Thank You and keep up your great channel, plus let us know of any new film or tv projects you have coming up that we can catch.
If you ever want to see Pentatonix with instruments, check out one of their collaborations with the violinist Lindsey Stirling. They did Imagine Dragon’s song Radioactive and then there’s a French song that I can never write the name of correctly.
Oh - so close but so far away! If I make it to a concert it would be the Baltimore one - I'm in Delaware. I'd love to say hi. Anyway, enjoy the concert, I hope you can make a video on what you thought of it! Are you going VIP?
The colors struck me as ice cream versions of the traditional Christmas red and green. (Somehow missed this ... will you ever come back to Pentatonix reactions?)
I'd love to hear you react to *Geoff Castellucci* singing *_Sixteen Tons_* . I promise you, you'll be amazed. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fzlT80jQ3lo.html
I miss Pentatonix having a true bass. That composition could have really benefited from it. If it were my choice I would have put Kirsty on lead vocal and Mitch on harmony. Her voice in that range is more pure which would have really played well with that song.
Had a blast at Pentatonix concert, and so happy to meet so many of you. Thanks for introducing yourselves to me! We shared amazing music snd moments tnite!
I know you will enjoy yourself....I know I would....with that being said....I honestly think we might be looking at Grammy #4.....what do you all think???
Reactor tip: if you can't get a video up, just blur it. Most of us have seen the videos, or can watch them outside the reaction. What we come to see is your reaction to it.
So happy to see you react to PTX again. This is the greatest vocal performance from them to date! I'll also be at the Dec 7th show at "The Rock" in Newark and can't wait to hear this live. This and I Saw Three Ships are my favorites but the entire album is spectacular. I'd love to see your reaction to their cover of I Just Called To Say I Love You. The five part harmonies are magical.
I was incredibly happy to see you reacting to Pentatonix again. You have been missed. I loved everything about their video, the arrangement and the performances. I hope that you enjoy the concert. They have no concerts anywhere near me (sigh). They did a short Behind The Scenes video for this video. I found it to be very interesting. Here is the link just in case you want to see it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jvVW0DtlAsg.html
I don't think anyone is going to be able to top this version of "The Prayer" as much as they want to try. It is beautiful not only because of the setting they created but because of the effort and emotion they put into doing this. I have no words to say how much I enjoy Pentatonix and they way they bring life to their songs. They amaze me with each new song. Each one has a wonderful gift to add to a song and I enjoy them so much. Thank you Pentatonix for the enjoyment you have let me experience the beauty of your voices and talent. Mr. Hassel, I very much enjoy your reactions and I know you will enjoy seeing them in person. Someday, maybe I will be able to also.
I think we have been.... Mitch Slapped Scott Shocked Kirstie Clapped KO'd by KO Mesmerized by Matt All at once. I wonder if only Pentaholics can live through this since we have been exposed more beauty than the average person. This song should come with a warning. This might destroy people that haven't been exposed to Pentatonix before. Enjoy the show! I saw them in 2018. Seems like forever ago. They are just as great live.
The other 4 always say Mitch has the best voice of the group. Here's the Behind The Scenes video. Enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jvVW0DtlAsg.html
No matter how many times I watch their official video of The Prayer, I always think Stunning and Speechless! Their best work yet IMHO and certainly Grammy worthy! PS. I still can't believe your character shot and killed Elizabeth Keene (in the back, no less)! 😅 PPS There is a behind the scenes video showing the set being built, etc.
Stunning. Absolutely stunning. Out three weeks ago today and already has over THREE MILLION views!!! So jealous you get to see them live! They will be appearing less than two hundred miles from me and I can’t get there. Grrrrr. We definitely need more baritone Scott.....Italian or not! Love your reactions, thank you. More PTX Christmas, please!
Aww man, a little bummed. I am also going to see them for the first time ever, even though I've been a fan for many years. But being in Newark DELAWARE, not NJ, I had a choice of your show, Hershey PA, or Baltimore and I chose Baltimore next Saturday. It would have been a truly memorable night if I could have somehow spotted and met you in NJ instead. Ah well.. Enjoy, and happy holidays to you!!
That is so exciting! I'm glad you are going to one of their Christmas concerts. I'll be seeing them in Pittsburgh. I hear they are doing "The Prayer" in their concert.
Takes my breath away. The most astonishing sounds that come from their voices leave me fighting back tears. Enjoy your concert. It should be, undoubtably, amazing. Happy Holidays from the PA Dutch country. I always look forward to your reactions.😉
Absolutely beautiful rendition, my favorite version of this song, which I have always loved. This probably is my favorite PTX, but like so many say, each one you listen to is your favorite 🥰. Thank you for your reaction Lukas, have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy the PTX Concert ❤️
Starting with The Sing Off up until now there is ten years of musical arranging by PTX and Ben Bram. Is there anyone that arranges better than them over that time period? What they do is just astounding.
Thrilled to see you back!! And with such a masterpiece! Hopefully you’ve been too busy working to do reactions. I’ll be at the show in Minneapolis, looking forward to hearing about your experience after the show.
Please react to Dimash's Ave Maria from the New Wave 2021! It will blow you away!!! It's a Vocalise version composed for Dimash by Igor Krutoy after Dimash asked him to compose it for him! Love having you back! and Pentatonix is sublime!
Love your reaction, as usual! I hope one day you will do a reaction to a Hans Zimmer song: Lost on you by Scott Hoying and Mario Hose. I think you will appreciate the song and the passion...
I've been waiting for you to review this! I love your low key style. Some reviewers are over the top frenetic, although always fun to watch their jaws drop. But like you said in earlier reviews, you hear Pentatonix and it's like an instant peace and calm come over you. Ok, that's paraphrased *smile*, but it was what I took from what you were saying. Enjoy the concert! I wish they were coming somewhere near me.
Hello lukas Always so nice to see your reactions!!! And this wonderful presentation is breathtaking, isn't it??!!! How fantastic to be able to be at the PTX show - enjoy it so much Kisses from Brazil
Great reaction Lukas, I absolutely love the song, but especially the last 20 seconds with that chorus along with Mitch's high notes. Keep up the good work.
Always a joy to listen to your reactions. Especially as you are already familiar with the Celine/Andrea original version of this song, which makes such a difference when offering an informed commentary. Also love that you are a fan of the "pagan" parts of Christmas. Never thought of describing my feelings that way, but it is unabashedly accurate. Gotta love the heightened energy of the season, too. Wishing you a wonderful experience at the PTX concert, and all the delights of a pagan celebration this year!
Love. You need better crap too play it through?????? The 😢. If your going too play Pentatonix, you need top gear or you will lose people. This is your first loosing people?????????
Glad to see you again, this was a wonderful reaction! I'm happy for you that you can see them in december, I have tickets for the tour in Europe next year and truly hope the concerts will take place.. Please do more PTX again or Mitch's solo stuff as "Messer"
