Sorry, I don't service the Nikon F2, F3, F4, and Pentax 67, so I can't make vlog videos for them. I only service, and make videos, about the cameras I work on. A list is posted on my website.

I’ve got several K1000s that exhibit desilvering of the viewfinder prisms. Have you any favorite materials for attempting to re-silver them?

Hello flyingo I have not seen this problem yet with the Pentax K000s I've worked on. I have seen this happen with various other 35mm cameras (OM-1 is the worst offender) I've worked on over the years, and I usually just grab a good prism from my camera parts bin to replace the damaged ones. I suppose a person could silver a prism, but just replacing them might be cheaper. Over the years, I've purchased hundreds of non working 35mm cameras and took them apart for the extra parts to use in my repairs. People often contact my shop looking for parts, but I don't sell parts. I always tell them to buy a non working camera, of the same model, on eBay and use the parts to fix their camera. Sometimes you have to buy several, but it works out okay.

Thanks a lot for sharing this precious info. I have one question, lightmeter in my k1000 does not work. I removed bottom cover and realised the tiny cable from battery going upwards to the top section of the camera is deteriorated and therefore need to be replaced. I tried to figure out from your video where this cable goes in the top part but did not got it. Any Hint. Many thanks

Go to 27:44. There you will see a circuit board. Look to the far left and find a [screw] with a brass washer. Now look right and find a [red wire] next to the screw. Go to the right of the red wire and you will see a [black wire]. The [black wire] goes to the battery compartment.
